on how the 117 work on yotes. I am about to spend the time to set my classic 257 up to shoot 70 & 85 gr bullets to varmint hunt but I have a perfectly good 117 load. In reality my max range will probably be 200 or so yards so I could just use the Lewis 257. All coytes that have been killed on the farm were with deer bullets.

Keith Candler says southern yotes are much bigger than western yotes so a heavier bullet might be better.

117's.........

I will let you know, and take a picture of a couple shot with them, but my real reason for loading a few heavies, was to carry just in case I see more piggies, or for the times Ill be calling alone in cougar country again.

I need a bullet that will splinter some shoulder bone, or penetrate on a head-on shot, thru the breastplate.

Will post results. :)
