I see symbols in the left hand column but was curious as to what it all means.
Can someone direct me to where the legend exists for the symbols used in the postings? Also, what qualifies a person as a member or senior member or whatever?

Not a big deal, just trying to learn the secret handshakes.

Legend is at the bottom of the page. 30 posts to member 100 to senior member. I have no idea what comes next.

I saw some of the items listed, but what's with the different colored envelopes and so forth?

A manilla looking envelope with mail sticking out means there are new posts since you last visited.
A red envelope means the same thing but that the topic is getting hit alot.
If there is a crooked arrow through the envelope, you posted in that thread.
If the envelopes don't have any mail in them, there haven't been any replies since you last visited the site.
If there is a padlock on the envelope, the moderators have locked it down for some reason. Usually because it was getting ugly.

Note that if you stop into the site, hit one or two topics that had replies but not all , then you leave and come back, if no one else responded to the ones you didn't look at, they will show no replies even though there were replies you didn't read earlier. Did that make the least amount of sense?
