Hi everyone and Happy New year.

I'm think about setting up a prairie dog hunt this June and trying to do my due diligence and was considering this outfitter. If anyone has any info pro or cons and what to expect would be appreciated. Thanks

Pahapesto guiding service is what I found. Looks like their pricing is $250 per hunter per day. I never heard of them though. Not sure if the fee includes any meals or lodging didn't see that info on their website.
My bad that does include lodging and a guide and meals are an extra $50 per day.

Also check whether that includes the license for reservations, or if that is extra.
Last time I got a Rosebud Tribal License it was almost $100 for three days. That's been a few years ago, though. The Tribal Council has been known to change the rules without notice. I checked the Rosebud site also and found one of the guys at Pahapesto is a registered Rosebud guide.

I've only shot with a guide once out of my 8 pd trips. And that was on rosebud. He was a good guy. He helped spot. Witch was helpful because the shooting was pretty poor. I definitely prefer to do my own thing..I don't think that 250 a day is outrageous with lodging.the most I've ever paid was 150 a day. And that included lodging.the cheapest was free. And that was the best shooting by far.it took a a lot of digging but I managed to find a virgin dog town for free on a beautiful 10 thousand acre ranch. A buddy of mine and I shot there 2 years. shot all ammo we brought both years. and then the rancher poisoned.. Damnit!!!.

PD shooting

I shot on the Rosebud last May. Think the license was $75. Had a native guide. He took us out to the dog town and left. Came back at noon and moved us to another dog town. That’s was exactly what I wanted. Decent shooting 6-700 rounds in two days.

What was your average distance for shots, and I assume you took everything you needed, guide just showed you the spot and did not provide any thing else right??

Average shot, I suppose 150 yards or so, but I shot them under 50 and much further than 200.
Yes I provided everything. My brother and I each drove our own trucks. We followed the guide to the dog town.
We each had our own shooting bench, rifles, ammo etc. We each had coolers of food and drinks. We set up benches about 200 yards apart and shot. I moved a few hundred yards when I had an area shot up pretty good. After each move I was in a target rich environment for a while.
When he dropped us off the guide asked us if we needed anything and left. He checked on us after 3-4 hours and moved us to another dog town a couple miles away.
The guide did exactly what I wanted, take us to the dog town and get lost.
