Sam is back in the hospital with infection in his hip again.
He said due to the infection, doctors had to remove his replacement hip joint and install a New Plastic hip joint.
He is receiving Antibiots for the infection.
He said it has to stay in for Three Months with him not putting any weight on it. Then I suppose the doctors will.try to put in another permanent hip joint.

He Requested Prayer for him from the Varmints Den members.....

I don't hear well on my phone and I may not be stating the situation 100% correct, but for sure he is in a tough spot again.
Sam is a tough old guy, but he can't seem to climb out of this hole.

And he was getting out and shooting, hunting, processing.
Just now getting my wheels under me abt 95% from a brkn hip.
The thought of them putting in a temp then going BACK in for the real thing......that is daunting for sure. Would not want to be in his shoes. Prayed and will get him before our S. School class tomorrow.

Prayers have been sent. I had the same thing. Hip destroyed by an infection, surgery for temporary hip, 24x7 antibiotic IV for three months, second surgery for a permanent hip. I lost about a total of eight months in 2013. All has been well since then.

Please tell him prayers have been offered up. My ex had a hip replacement at 35 due to early onset arthritis. A full recovery is possible, Sam just has a long road to how.
May God's grace and good will shine on Sam and his family

Prayed.

As others have noted, infection, hip removal and replacement not uncommon with full recovery possible - one my SIL hit with MRSA on her initial hip replacement, removal ,MRSA treated, replacement hip - 100% recovery HOWEVER process was not a walk in the park - Sam will need our continued prayers.

Best.

Prayers for you Sam

Having two hip replacements, with no real complications, my prayers go out to you Sam. I know that you had a lot of trouble with it to begin with, and I worried about you all along. It seemed that you were doing really good and now this. Continued prayers for you and also for your caregivers. They will have to be extra careful with you for a long time now. Get well soon Sam and my continued prayers for a full and successful recovery.

Haven't been on the board for a couple days and am sure sad about this news. Will definitely pray for Sam. At least he got to fill his freezer and enjoy some hunting before this thing reared it's head again. He's apparently as tough as those bears he's killed, but he'll stay on my prayer list.
