63° here in Upstate NY this morning, the high for today will be about 90° and it will be the same for the next three or four days. They say the heat index will 100° to 105° for the days.

I thought it was going to be a peaceful day yesterday but the first thing I had to do is go up to the gun club and cut up a tree that had fallen down on the 100yd target frame. I got that done came back home and had to a quick computer repair. Then in the afternoon I spent two hours getting the lawn mowed. Finally after supper my wife and I went out for ice cream.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good Morning from Waseca, 79 and mostly clear, high is 83??? Only? Yesterday was 92.
I ended up not doing much yesterday, seems I did something bad to my back Wednesday. Feels pretty good this AM. We need to get the RV loaded and ready to leave in the morning. Headed down to Iowa for a short vacation, doctors appointment and truck service. I am ready for a break from unpacking and trying to find a place for all the reloading tools.
Hope everyone has a great Saturday, warm and relaxing,
Ken

morning all. 43 this morning, headed into the mid 80s, more wind to fan the wild fire flames.
Slept in this morning, sure felt good too. But now running late, not that I have to be anywhere at a certain time, but still late.
Seems the closer I get to being caught up on keeping things running around the farm the faster things break down. From oil leaks, water pump on a swather, sprinkler problems ect. Just can't get everything running at once.
Better get to it, prayers for Doug J. and the fire fighters here, along with those who lost homes. Heard that over a hundred have burned!
Have a great day.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good Morning from the sticks of Kentucky, it was Hot yesterday and promises to be the same today. I did a bit of bushogging with my cab tractor yesterday till about 2 pm. Then since it had warmed up considerably, I hauled 3 loads of rock and put in a ditch that was cutting into a fence......one post about washed out already.
That warmed me up for sure. Judy Brown left again, so I'm ON VACATION again, this time to sons house to watch Grandson since Dad has to work today. No one will watch the little Terror.

Dean , the Forest Fire in your area has made the Main Stream media, they said Donald Trump set it.

I have to go to Otis the Cats house soon to check the **** trap, yesterday they threw the trap and shoved it off the porch. Hoping for a better result this time, I have caught 7 there this spring and they are still coming. I did see a Herd of little Turkeys the other morning there were about 20 with 2 hens....maybe the trapping has helped the hatch this year.
Gotta get to work, always something broke down or something needs to be repaired. Retirement sure is Grand.....if I got rid of the Damcows I could sit down for a while.

Where's the Skruske today?

Morning

Good morning from Indy. It's 76 right now heading for 93 with a heat index just above ridiculous. Global steaming, I guess. Good day to stay indoors and listen for that B17 coming by. When it's landing it comes over low and slow about a quarter mile east of the house. Have I said I love that sound?

Have a good day.

Temp was in the mid 70's early on and like most of the rest of you, we'll be looking at something in the 90's as the day moves on. I do prefer milder stuff, but as I grow older I seem to deal with the heat much better than the cold. A/C certainly helps and I didn't have that until I was in my twenties. I spent a summer in south Louisiana in the mate 70's with an El Camino with no A/C. It wasn't comfortable, but at 70 mph it was bearable.

Not sure what the day will bring, grass to cut, ammo to load, packages to mail, plus whatever my wife decides I must do. Typical summer day.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Still, barely a great morning folks,

It was 76° at sunrise and up to 90° by 10am here near Halfway USA. DD & I sat on the back patio for a bit this morning enjoying a warm breeze with our morning coffee.

Where's the Skruske today?
I was out gettin' it done before the furnace kicked on. So far, wash & wax DD's newer car. Worked up a sweat there. It's sitting in the shade & in a little bit it will be time to buff the haze off.

That trailer hitch we added was easy enough to do. The wiring harness for the 4 flat trailer plug was also easy. The snag came when there was no power for the trailer lights. Research and advice from the 'net says I have to go to the dealer to have them "turn on the towing feature" in the on board computer.

Probably going to hook onto the 5th wheel today and move it up next to the house for loading. Heading to a campground in a couple days for a few days.

Good afternoon everyone.....at the shop today and it is way to hot...I'm not working on work stuff I'm trying to finish up my rotating shooting bench. I got the top cut and sanded and a coat of Poly on it and got some good ol black rustoleum sprayed on all the steel parts. All that is needed now is to find my set of choice or make one and get it attached to its tube. I have an industrial Singer sewing machine at the house that was my grandfathers that he used for upholstery work for decades but I have no clue how to use the damn thing.

Went and helped set up the mortar tubes for the fireworks tonight at the party. We screwed bout 30 tubes to plywood so there should not be any going the wrong direction. About 6 shots per tube it ought to be fun as long as no one gets blown up this year. Don't know how well I'll be doing tomorrow as there was already probably 100 cases of beer there and there usually 2-3 gallons of Crown Royal.....and I know there will be at least a few quarts of some clear stuff that will put a guy down real quick like if he aint careful.:D

I need to drag out my new binos and rangefinder and get a new battery in it for the trip next month, also need to get a .223 bolt head ordered for one of my rifles too.

Hope everyone stay safe and stays cool!

Good afternoon from hot and steamy PA. Late to the party today. But I have been up since 2:30am. Was 74° when we left and 93 here now. Left for the Bay at 3:30 and after a 30 minute boat ride, were catching fish by 7am. Caught over 40 small stripers. Kept a limit of 8 and headed home by 9:30. Beautiful day on the water. Glad we weren't out there much longer getting fried though. Here's some of our catch. My mom and our 80 y.o pastor. He always made time to take me fishing. Glad to return the favor.

Only one incident to report. Lost a dust cap on the rear hub somewhere on the way down. Luckily I carry some spares. Don't want to dunk a bearing in saltwater. Grease was all over the rim. Made a real mess, but no troubles on the ride home. Got home about 1pm, and just got done cleaning fish. Cleaning the boat can wait for tomorrow.

Broke a part of the mower deck last night. The bracket that the lift arm connects to. Saw my bud out on our way home and he said bring it down. Fixed it better than new. Guess I'll finish mowing IF it cools down some.

My Wren relocation efforts have worked! Moved the wren house of the trailer last evening, about 8 feet from where it was. The wrens found it in about 2 minutes and seen none the wiser.

Well, it's time for me to crash. Have a good one.

Charlie
