18° here in Upstate NY this morning, some better than the last two mornings. The high temperature for today is to be up around 40° with rain moving in later in the afternoon. It is supposed to rain tonight and then clear out before tomorrow morning.

Yesterday was a fairly calm although a little windy. I went down to get the mail and there was a dead deer in the ditch between my house and my neighbor. Someone had apparently hit it not to long ago as when I felt it I could tell it was still somewhat warm. I called the state police and they brought me out a tag so I could have the deer. It was a shame it got killed like that as it was a button buck that looked like would have turned into a decent one. Son-in-law came along and we gutted it out and he took it up to his house to process. He has gotten one buck and two doe this season himself.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good morning, 44 in Texas and 76 for the high. The women want to go to some big place that selling Christmas decorations and has a nice restaurant. I don't know what the guys want, though it has been tossed around that we need to shop with the women.
Fine, except for the big Dallas gunshow today. I "need to" go. I think I know who wins that discussion.
Hope everyone has a blessed day,
Ken

Mornin boys...
43 here high on RUGER Mt this morning with rain.
We didn't go hunting this morning. We've hunted all week and
figured we'd sleep in this morning. Probably go this evening if
it quits raining. Elijah is the only one that's killed anything so far.
He's got a doe and a 4 point.
You all have a gooden today and GOD Bless...

morning all. 25 with 40s on the way, both in degrees and mph! Calling for a chance of snow tonight, we'll see how that goes. But the dirt is going to move today
Didn't feel like doing much yesterday, feel better today... so far.
Was going to fix the well problems yesterday but the local hardware store was closed! Didn't want to have to drive to town for pipe fitting and pressure switch so we just had to keep a eye on the problem and make sure the pump kicked on when the calves drank the tank down.
Got some more creedmoor brass worked up and ready to load, also 50 rounds of 38-40s for the old Colt pistol.
Better get moving and get chores done before the wind starts.
Have a good day and be safe.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good morning from a chilly box blind on the eastern shore of MD. It's about 33° here with rain on the way. We have seen a few deer. One big buck pushing a doe around, but we needed birdog's 284 to reach it. 1000 yards across the field and it went the other way. We saw some bucks come out of where we are sitting last evening. Hopefully it's a light rain coming and they come out later, but with the neighbor's banging away, not likely. Man, just trying to get mom a buck. I've about given up. Only takes one hit doe to bring one in though...

Gonna sit here all day. Have a buddy heater to turn on in a bit and windows to put in to keep the wind out. Waiting for the action to slow down a bit...

Have a good one.

Real Saturday

Good morning all. It's 47 and misting rain in Indy. Sposta' get up to 55 and continue light rain. Three more state championship football games today. They played the 2A, 4A, and 6A games yesterday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Today's games are 1A, 3A, and 5A. Our New Palestine Dragons are playing in the 5A game. Even though the games are indoors, I'll be watching from the recliner. It's indoors, too and has cheaper snacks and drinks.

Charlie, sounds like you need to take Elijah with you to get you on some deer.

ShaneG, looks like Cabelas isn't going to have that 12FV on sale again. They must have sold a ton of them. I bought two and my BIL bought one about this time last year.

Have a good day.

49º and cloudy in the hollow. Interesting and aggravating day yesterday. My children were coming for dinner yesterday and I had several things to do in prep. About 7:30 a nephew called and asked if I wanted a deer, I said sure and he called a while later to tell me he and his brother had killed two. One was a wall hanger and the other a button, shot as a doe. I still agreed and asked that they get them to me ASAP as I use a processor about an hour and quarter north. I have done my own, but these folks make the best summer sausage anywhere. So, the brother shows up about 10:00 with the pair and we transfer them to my car and head north. When we reach the processor it doesn't look good. The drive to the unloading area is blocked off and the parking lot is full. I'm told that they are totally full and can't take any more til Saturday at 5:00 AM and they will only be taking 70. So, it's get some ice in the cavities and return home. I did get everything done for dinner and had a great meal and visit with my kids. Then got a food coma and went to sleep early with the alarm set. Woke up at 3:20 well before the alarm and decided it was time to go, so I made the drive again. I was first in line, but there were 12 trucks behind me at 6:15 when they took mine. Back home a little after 7:00 and I'm sleepy even with 4 cups of coffee. Wonder what the rest of the day will bring?

G'day Y'all,
Rick
