40° here in Upstate NY this morning but it is going to be cooling off as the day progresses. We will end up the day with a high temperature of about 36°.

It rained a lot yesterday but not any hard downpours, the temperature got up to about 50° and it rained through the night. We may get some snow showers today and the wind will be up around 20-25mph. I plan on just taking life easy today.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good Morning from Bartonville Texas where it is a chilly 32 this morning with the high just 38 degrees. Brr.
Going to stay close to a heater today. The kids have friends from North Carolina visiting through the weekend so we have to stay in the RV.
Not much else going on, too cold.
Hope everyone has a blessed day,
Ken

Great morning folks,

26° with radar indicating snow but it does not appear to be falling to the ground here near Halfway USA. Yesterday did reach 50° for a couple hours & we even got a peek at the sun for a few minutes.

The blower relocation project is nearly complete. Here I was, with the mind of an engineer, all set build an air handler sort of manifold with three openings & duct work to connect it all together - you know, 3-4 hours worth of measuring & cutting & tin knocking BUT...

Once the old fan set was removed Debra Dearest looked at the front of the wood stove & asked a SIMPLE question: "Why can't you just put an elbow into that middle hole & block the other two off?"

The clouds parted. A bright light shinned upon our humble home. Angels heralded the epiphany with trumpets!

Here I had $80 worth of elbows, tees, bands, pipe to fabricobble it all together and POOOOOFFF! She reduced it down to 5 pieces totaling about $28. She cut the work down to about 2 hours start to finish with a simple question.

The noise level is reduced from 3 noisy fans pushing air through the heat exchanger to just one squirrel cage blower 8 feet away in the utility room. It is quiet with just air moving through the exchanger.

I do have to cover/conceal the new 4" duct work and fit a piece of trim to finish up.

I also got a set of them fancy John Deere yellow wheels & tires to easily fix a ruined tire on my wood hauling wagon. Surprisingly, they did not come with a gold plated price. It took me about 10 minutes to swap out the old & put the new on the axle stubs. Changing the tire would have taken over an hour on those old 6" rims & I likely have poked a hole in the new inner tube anyway. Cost difference was only about $15 more for the new ready to roll REAL BALL BEARING wheels.

In the mean time, I am taking it easy today. I think I caught what ever it was the George had.

If I feel better later, I'll probably move firewood just to get outside for some fresh air.

Good morning

28 degrees here this morning. Quite a contrast to the 62 we had yesterday afternoon.
Heading to the reloading bench in a few to load up some 30-30’s. We are expecting my parents and both my sisters and their families tonight. Should be a good day, if things go as planned.

Make it a good day

Good morning fellows. It's a sunny 45° here in South central PA. Little wind is to blow today but looks to be fairly nice. It sure did rain hard yesterday though. It sure was trying to break the record. I worked a half day and left. Ran a package out to a friend and then ran to MD for diesel. $2.89/gal there vs. $3.69 in PA. Makes a difference at 30 gallons a pop. Had dinner at the Messican place JR likes with Sue and Tyler. He's home for a few more days, then headed to Qatar to meet his sweetie, then on to Indonesia and the Philippines to meet her family. I told him not to get too settled down just yet. She is a hottie though.

Well the coffee is ready. Better get some in me and shower before work. Have a good one.

morning all. A big fat 0 here this morning, probably drop on the minus side before daylight. Might get to the high 20s today. Only made it to 13 yesterday and the wind never let up till after dark. The wind chill stayed below zero until about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. But we only got a few flakes for snow. I think the ground is white this morning, haven't looked out yet.
Running late, we slept in, Gwyn has the crude, hope she is better this morning, and I didn't tell her I'd take it from her either!
Worked on our old water hauling truck yesterday in the warm shop but that's about all I did. May not ever do that much today :)
Better get around and go chop the ice for the cows, seems a never ending job this year.
Have a great day and weekend. Be safe.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Mornin boys...
44 here high on RUGER Mt this morning.
Tucker is in the woods and finally took the ML with him.
Had a big buck within 50 yards the other day and couldn't get
a shot with his bow. Went out last nite to celebrate sis's getting done
with collage. Ended this with a 4.0 and passed her certification test that 52%
fail it the first time. Glad it's over for her.
You all have a gooden today and GOD Bless...

Good morning everyone...….got to the shop a little later this morning. I slept in a bit and didn't feel to energetic when I woke up. I need to bring the other piece of a trailer in I have been working on. Lack of grease on a 2.5" hinge bar and the force of 4 6" bore hydraulic cylinders and the weight of a 963 cat finally caused the pin to break. Everything was locked up tight with rust and corrosion, the side that wasn't broke only had enough room to get a Sawzall blade between the bosses so I could get it separated. Then drill a 1/2" hole through 4" of left over pin so I could torch the core out of the pin and drive it out.

I got an email stating my .936" gas block has been shipped so hopefully I can get it mocked up and the gas hole drilled and the 20Tac upper should be good to go! I still have plenty of ammo loaded for it and I'll have to designate some mags just for it to keep everything straightened out.

Well hope everyone has a good day!

32º nd clear at sunrise in the hollow this morning. It seems that most of the cold/flu/whatever has left out house. Business is slow and I'm not motivated to do much in the way of household projects so I'm not sure just what will happen here today. Spent the middle of yesterday at the new range drilling holes where the back leg of the benches will be and driving in reinforcing rods that will stabilize things. I'm told block, sand and mortar mix may be delivered on Monday. So even with the rain and mud, we are moving forward, just not as fast as we'd prefer. The bench tops should be complete, so as soon as the block layer is done we'll start attaching them. We could probably use some volunteer gorillas, but will probably have to settle for a tractor with a front end loader and will make nice black tire marks on the fresh new concrete.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Morning gang, late check in. 35 headed to 42 today, got to get some hay out to the cows, sure is messy and muddy in the feedlot. We usually get 45=50 inches of rain for the calendar year, we have 75 inches so far! Had to go to Doc appointment at Lexington yesterday, did biopsy several places in my hip joint, will culture them for 2 weeks, and if no infection crops up, will proceed to get a new hip in about 4 weeks!! I hope this will be the last surgery on that hip, will make #4. Well got to run, remember those in need of prayer, Buff out!!

Good morning, GoGo. It's 35 in Louisville, going to 40. Like others, we had rain yesterday, but bigger rain is coming just after midnight tomorrow night.

I'm checking in late but I was up fairly early, pulling the baby backs and country style ribs out of the fridge and pre-heating the smoker. They went on about 9. New box-style came up to temp real fast ... until I added water to the pan, and now it's struggling. I haven't learned how it wants to operate, that's for sure. The good news is that when you cook low and slow, there's plenty of room for things not going quite right.

The annual UK vs. U of L game is at 2 p.m. today. Louisville is showing some promise, but it could get ugly if UK plays like they did in beating North Carolina a week ago.

Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there.

Morning

Good real Saturday morning all. We have 30 in Indy heading for 36. Right about 20 degrees below yesterday. Just spent a while dancing with new and old prescription providers. Switching from Humana to Aetna effective 1/1/19 so I placed my last order with Humana and created an online account with Aetna. Premium is less than half and no copays on 2 of the three meds I get by mail. Franciscan Health (formerly St Francis) has a program called Senior Promise where they just enter in your prescriptions and it tells you what options are available and what they will cost. I'll go from almost $500 per year to $180 for "maintenance" prescriptions. I'm no mathmagician but I think that's better.

No telling what's gonna' happen today. I'm not in planning. I'm only on the response team.

Have a good day.

Both in the business world and here at home, I try to get a fresh set of eyes -- several if possible -- on whatever project I'm working on. But when someone offers a good idea, you've got to be willing to try it. My compliments on being flexible.
