THAT is not a typical 17 year old girl. She maintained composure through out that ordeal. She followed the first rule in a crisis while flying a small aircraft. "Fly the plane".

The young lady did amazingly well, but I'm thinking part of the reason must be excellent instruction, y'know? I would have thought that thing would spin like a top when the right side finally settled. As someone else mentioned, I'd love to see the video that you know someone took of the landing.

That could have turned out a lot worse,I think letting her circle for a while may have helped her settle a bit.You could tell once she was talking with her instructor and beginning her final approach she had gotten totally focused.
Great job!I had a WWII and Korean War P51 pilot who used to come to my work tell me some very interesting stories about his flying lessons and then later wartime exploits,absolutely hair raising stuff.
Maggie will go on to do great things,she will have the confidence to do anything she tries.Just amazing.
