6x

if you can't see a spike rack with a 6x scope....it's to far to shoot...unless your a bean field hunter with a fine rifle and scope and a good rest. then can go to the 20x scopes......i've shot deer at over 250 with 6x burris that i could see WELL if it had spikes or not.
as for doe's save them for bow or muzzel loader.......JMO :)

I personally like the belted magnums in my hunting rifles.
I like the Leupold 4.5-14x40 on my 300 Win Mag deer/elk rifle (pre-64 model 70)
On my varmint rifles I prefer the like brand in a 6-18 power.
I also use Zeiss scopes and binoculars.
So, there’s a lot of good glass out there,
Just takes a bit to find what really suits.

Thougt this was a new thread till I saw post from TX Jack….This has been a while.
As for scopes, I look for different thing, especially since old age has set in. Nowadays, i prefer the 4.5x14’s in a quality scope.
