The first driver was the only real reckless one. Why did he keep gunning his engine like that, when he had no traction? The other two cars just slowly slid down the hill.
In their defense, people in Western Oregon are not used to these kinds of driving conditions. This has been by far the worst winter I have experienced here, since I moved to Oregon in 1993. It very rarely snows here in the western part of the state.
