Seems to me that I heard that you could tell what production number and the year the action was made by reading the serial number. Anyone have the skinny on if that is true and how to decipher the numbers???

Thanks in advance. WD

WD,

the serial numbers on all Kelbly produced rifles do correspond to a "year manufactured" and then the "number action produced". Let's suppose your action in question reads .... 97203. 1997 would be the YR made, and 203 would be the 203rd action built for that year.

If you had an action with serial number 00001, that would be the first action produced in the year 2000.

hope this helps,
