48° here in Upstate NY this morning under overcast skies, the high temperature for today will be up to about 70°. It will be turning off sunny with a 8 to 13mph wind. There is no rain forecast for today.

I got "Up Home" yesterday morning and fished for a few hours, I caught and released four bass, three about 9 or inchers and one nice 16". Today we will go to church this morning and then take life easy. Prayers for all that need them.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good morning from Greeley where it's 57, clear and 78 later.
Yesterday I walked miles and miles of gunshow isles. At least I felt like it was miles. This is always a good show. No modern guns allowed, just blue steel and walnut.
I ended up getting 2 310 tools and parts. One is 257 Roberts. I found a Lachmiller shotgun case tool in 410, something I don't have. I was gifted a Thalson loader missing the dies.
The real find is a Bond Machine hand tool. It is the original tool make before the merger of Modern Bond in 1925. It fills a big hole in my collection.
For fun I was looking for a good scope for an older 22 rifle. The Weaver K 10 is always a good choice and I was able to get one for less than a Ben Franklin.
This morning is our board meeting then we are heading over to Estes Park, my wife is excited.
George, congratulations on getting quality fishing time.
Hope everyone has a blessed Sabbath,
Ken

Mornin boys...
48 here high on RUGER Mt this morning.
It was 51 at 4, first rime I got up. Got to pull the handle some yesterday. Loaded a few for the 6br, Tucker got a couple boxes of bullets from Uncle Tom at the BBB. We ain't shot it in quite awhile.
I sure do miss turkey season...lol
I probably had the best season that I can remember. Not because of the killing but something about it that I just had a good time. Just hope deer season is as much fun. Not sure what we'll get into toady. Tucker said something about fishing yesterday but it looked like and rained all day. You all have a gooden today and GOD Bless...

Great morning folks,

The sun is poking through the hazy clouds and we have a rising temperture that is already at 49° back here near HalfwayUSA. We should have a high near 80° by late afternoon.

The trip from Miss Judy's hospitality house started in the rain but by the time we got north of Lexington, I-75 was begin to dry. The "big hill" dropping down into the Ohio River was a problem but Googe Live Nav routed us around the 30 minute delay. We got a short tour of the ritzy part of Cincy. That Live Nav is great but because so many other use it they ALSO get re-routed so city street traffic was a bit crowded as well. Good things I was rolling down the road hauling a junk yard special. ;) Most folks stayed the hell out of the way of that heavy trailer.

We drove right to my brother in laws place & backed the trailer with POS truck right inside his barn & dropped it there.

Debra Dearest & I made it back home by 8:30pm.

No rest today. I have to make the truck ready to head right back to Florida for another round trip. We will leave here Wednesday early with a cargo trailer. My son & I will head north on Saturday as he starts his new job on Tuesday. Debra Dearest stays in Florida to help daughter in law manage the kids through the end for their school year.

We will be driving separate as she want to take her Bronco to sunny Florida & ride around with her top down...I'm pretty sure she meant the top on the Bronco.

47° here this morning. Grandson has a fever so they ended up not spending the night with us. Whatever he has, his big sister had it last week so hopefully, he is better today and we will get to visit with them. Sorted a bucket of wheel weights which turned out to be rather frustrating because over half of them were steel and a good deal of them were zinc. One more bucket to sort so we will see how that goes. One of Jeff Bezos’ people delivered the new drive cable for Mom’s self-propelled mower so I put that on. I was pleasantly surprised with how simple it was to install and adjust. It’s a Toro mower and has served us well for the past 7-8 years but probably won’t see much action once the new mower arrives tomorrow.

Time to get started on a few chores before company arrives. If I’m not doing something, then something’s not getting done.
Make it a good day

Good morning from far away, exotic downtown Murdo, SD. 50 here heading for the low 80s. Wind made for tough shooting yesterday. Heavy bullets were called for but even those were getting beat up. Hoping for a
break today. Don’t like taking so much ammo home.
When you find yourself in Murdo, go to the Drive In. Best burger I’ve ever had. Prairie Pizza is good too but it’s not open this weekend.

Stalking hreakfast. Have a good day.

Good morning folks. It's 56 and sunny to start the day. Going to ??? I didn't look. Yesterday was a dismal day at the gun raffle. We got rid of 4 guns all day. They did several bowls but were offering CASH or the gun. The cash won out 3 to 1. Store didn't make much money after they pay me.

Our son got home from OH late afternoon so we went to the distillery for dinner. Good food and booze. We were all in bed by 8-9pm I think. Wore out. He goes to Los Angeles this week. We get to dog sit.

Gotta work on the boat today while it's nice. Have a grad party this afternoon. Better get to it. Have a good one.

Morning Everyone!

Its 61º and cloudy here headed for the mid 70's with a lite NE wind. The weeks forecast looks nice, weather wise. Mornings in the 60's warming up into the 80's in the afternoon and Sunny.

We spent most of yesterday at the ballpark watching the Grandsons play ball. We listened to the Razorbacks loose again to Vanderbilt in a close game. Arkansas gave up a couple of runs due to "balks", which is a dumb way to loose a game but...............

No plans for today. The Grandsons play ball and we may or may not go. If not we'll have a lazy day at home.

Prayers offered for those in need and for our Country.

Y'all have a good one.

Morning all, 56 headed to 76 today, a nice cool sunny day on tap. We ended up in Somerset for 3 hours, no firearms made the trip home with me. I looked at some new Hatsan bolt action .22s, copy of a CZ 452 action or a Brno 1. They had them in compact and long barreled, with a syn stock, and 2 mags. The buttstock held the extra mag and the barrels were threaded at the muzzle with caps on them, $225 out the door. I may look at them some more later. Church in a few, then home for lunch and head out to the big farm to do whatever we want to for a few hours. You all have a great day, remember those in need of prayers, Buff out.

Morning all. The good news is that I tested negeative for COVID last night. Hopefully, that means I get to start my new chemo meds again after I see my oncologist on Wednesday. Still coughing abit, especially in the early evening. No big plans for the day, just the usual. It is very cool and sunny now, headed for high 70's. Be safe.

Can't say for sure what the low was last night, but it was cool this morning. Mid 60s now with clear blue skies and green grass wet with a heavy dew. Today is the second Mother's Day, the one where I give the gift I promised which happens to be rebuilding my Bride's raised flower.herb, veggie bed. I started with the timbers last week and now I've spent an hour or more digging the old fill and will place a liner and refill shortly. Later I may get a chance to fill some 221 Furball cases to round out the ammo supply for next weekend. Might even get a few 222 rem Mag done. Most of my ammo is stuff leaft over from previous trips, but I usually add a few for giggles. The plan is to gather, pack and sack through Wednesday morning and travel to Paris TN for an overnight before heading west on Thursday morning. Much to do and not nearly enough time, yet here I am tapping on this keyboard. o_O

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Good morning, GoGo. At 1055 it's 66 in Louisville, sunny and only going to 76. Gorgeous day to do most anything outdoors.

The birds are fed and I have a cured pork loin on the smoker. It's been soaking up a mixture of Morton Tender Quick and brown sugar for 10-12 days in my garage fridge. It smokes for 5-6 hours, then I bump the temp up and bring the internal temp to 145. After cooling, I wrap the loin in Saran and let it rest back in the fridge for two days. This lets the moisture equalize and, more importantly, lets the smoke flavor penetrate deep into the meat. Then freeze it for 3-4 hours, slice it thin as paper and vacuum pack in 1# packs.

I got "Up Home" yesterday morning and fished for a few hours, I caught and released four bass, three about 9 or inchers and one nice 16".
Down here, old-timers sometimes call 'em "that ol' brown fish," George. There's nothing like catching smallies in fast water on light tackle. Glad you had a good first trip this year.

We will be driving separate as she want to take her Bronco to sunny Florida & ride around with her top down...I'm pretty sure she meant the top on the Bronco.
I don't know, Scott. Debra has been exposed to Judy Brown a lot lately, which undoubtedly will stoke the fires of whatever wild streak DD already has. Can you see those two in a Florida beach town with that top down? Look out! Ha!

Doug, I couldn't picture a drive-in in Murdo, so I fired up Google Earth. I've been to Murdo numerous times, but it always startles me just a little how that place is like a step back in time at least 40-50 years. For example, this drive-in is just called Drive-In. Is this the one that has great burgers?

I know breakfast is important to you, Doug, so I'm sure you're aware of the place shown below. Good breakfasts, but be careful eating there later in the day. I'm pretty sure this is the restaurant where VolDoc ordered a side order of whole kernel corn with his meal. When he got the bill, that corn cost him something like $4. We teased him about that for years.

Hmmm "exposed" and top down, I think it best if I don't comment more....

I could well be wrong, but I'm thinking the $4 corn was across the street at the truck stop. This place is generally the place for breakfast on arrival Friday.

Good afternoon everyone.....nice and warm right now...got up this morning and made coffee and bacon and eggs. After that I went and got the tiller out and went over the garden again....still a little damp from the rain but it worked. I'll probably go over it again later. A Walmart trip got a few supplies for the SD adventure. Needed some propane for the camp stove and sunscreen and a bunch of other goodies to make life camping a little better.
Groceries will be picked up this week before we roll out. Not sure what will be on the menu but we won't starve...I could miss a meal or two these days.

Hope everyone has had a good day!

Rick, As you know the 221 is often underestimated.
One of my Furball recipes got me 4 balloons at 300 last week: ELD 52gr / 2400. My favorite is TCM powder / 40gr Vmax.
