63° here in Upstate NY this morning with the high temperature for today going up to about 80°. Yesterday was a nice day, I got the yard mowed in the afternoon.

I think I will just take life easy today and not do a lot. We will probably be getting rain starting tomorrow from Florence.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good Sunday Morning

Good morning George and others to follow. Its 68 here in NC Ohio with sunshine on the way. Trying to finish one row of garden beds before the rain arrives. Thankful that I am able to get that much done and not lying in a nursing home. Take care and Prayers to those and this great country we have been blessed with. Mike

Good morning, GoGo. It's 73 in Louisville and supposed to only go to 84. Yesterday hit 90, with high, high humidity. We're supposed to get rain from the hurricane late this afternoon or tonight.

Tried to buy a self-propelled mower yesterday morning. The guy was a reseller, which didn't bother me overly much. By him doing this as a "side hustle," I assumed he knew the market and had his mowers marked up enough to dicker a little. The one I was looking at didn't start real clean, but once it warmed up the self-propelled part worked real well, which can be a problem with such machines. The guy had it priced at $150 and I offered him $125. He shut me down real quick on that, "Nope, can't take that, got more in it than that." So, I shook his hand, thanked him for his time, and off I went. Wasn't five minutes later I get a text saying "I guess I could take $135." For those of you who know me, and even those who don't, can you guess how ol' Carpman reacted? I didn't even respond. Ha!

I didn't post yesterday, but I did read the thread later in the day and saw the Damncowfarmer on his Michigan vacation. What surprised me was that JR didn't have a gun rack already attached to the front of that walker, holding a Remington. I'm hoping today we get photos of Judy Brown in a bikini and a kayak. :D

Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there.

Another great morning folks,

61° light low fog and clear above here near Halfway USA. Gorgeous all day yesterday, got to 80° for a bit.

The kayaking trip was pretty relaxing. Water was just a little cool from the recent rain fall but mostly clear. I figured the easiest way to teach newbs how to maneuver a kayak was to get 'em set in, hand 'em a paddle and give a shove. :D That tends to learn ya. No spills in the flat slow river this trip. Well, except for the foo foo dog who thought she could step off the bow onto some floating weeds. Learned her to stay in the bottom of the boat that did. Lots of fish in the water watching us float by. We saw Snowy Egrets, Lessor Egrets, Mallards & an Osprey. A couple Muskrats were swimming along as well. It was a relaxing and enjoyable mid day. We noted the first hints of Maple tree changing color at our latitude as well.

There might be a bikini under that jacket. ;)

Today's adventure, Island hoping - Michigan style. We came up with a spontaneous trip to Mackinac Island for today. Should be easy to pull off as this is the off tourist season. I expect Fall colors will be more pronounced north of here.

morning all. 50 this morning and may even be some dew. Back into the low to mid 80s later.
Finished three fields yesterday, two were oat hay, that should be the last of that. Now just alfalfa and some straw to bale.
Going to skip town and church today, want to get this hay done. Still a ways to go.
No major break downs yesterday:D. Makes my life easier! And only one sprinkler still running.
Better get moving, have a blessed Lords' day and remember the prayer requests.
GOD BLESS. Dean

That jaunt is worthwhile just for the ferryboat ride, especially if you've never been on one of those large, fast boats. I got to visit a couple of times in the early 2000s. Can't remember if the ferry was a hydrofoil, but might have been. I do remember it hustled pretty good for a big boat. I hadn't been out of the Army Reserve long and I kept envisioning a .50 cal mounted on the bow of that thing.

Hope y'all have a great day.Get a photo of the Carters on the porch of the Grand Hotel.

Good morning, 66 here in Iowa. Getting to 87 later.
Yesterday was chaos. I put up a sign that just said tool sale. Next thing I know is 25 guys are in the shop fighting over who got what. By the end of the day I was exhausted and all the major tools were sold along with the junk lawnmower stuff.
There's more tools to sell and I can stretch that out over days.
Big surprise was learning of a second garage full of stuff, lawn tractor etc. I check into that tomorrow.

Today is church and lunch then the guys are coming back to get their big items.
Hope everyone has a blessed day,
Ken

Morning boys. It's 64° here this morning headed to the low 80's or so. Miss Sue came home yesterday morning early. I drove down to the hospital about 9AM and she was ready to roll. I went out to get the car to pick her up and it wouldn't start. Dead battery. I noticed Friday it hesitated a bit, but dang this thing just died. Hospital had a jump box and got us going. Drove straight to the garage and had them put a new one in. Of course, they didn't stock the weird size our Explorer takes, so he put a different, more expensive one in.

Worked at the shop a bit in the afternoon. Place was a madhouse. Gun show in town brought out all the tire kickers. Got home and made a nice dinner for Miss Sue. More tending to her today I guess? Need to mow and get some yard work done too.

Have a good one.

Calling for Florence to move some rain in on us the today and tomorrow along with some "breezy" conditions. We'll see if they get it right. Just glad it won't be like what the coast got from Flo. Got some 1x fired brass in so I'll have a good winter project, got most of the stuff together to build a DIY brass annealing set up, all manual, just wanting to see if I can do it, another winter project I have in mind. It's the one year anniversary of Roxy the Boxer passing, best dog I had. RIP

Morning

Morning all. it's 72 in Indy heading for 85. "Sunny" they say. At least they got that part right. No fake winds about to blow me off my feet while people casually stroll by in the background. Geez!

No golfing today. Might have to stalk some grubs in the yard. Put some stuff down and watered it in last night but no results yet. If there's grubs there, they're tough! Also had a battle with some wasps nesting in a sheltered soffit area yesterday. They lose! That wasp spray knocks 'em down right now. I reloaded at Rural King after breakfast this morning. Ready for another assault if needed. While I was at RK, I picked up another 5 cases (24 each) of their spring water. Much better than the regular bottled water they sell. $1.99 a case. It sells out quickly. Had a chat with the guy in the gun department about the .224 Valkyrie. RK doesn't have guns or ammo yet but I've been curious about the complete upper Palmetto State Armory is selling. Mixed reviews so far. For some reason, I've had a itch lately and the Valkyrie upper goes on a standard AR15 lower with no mods. Does need the 6.8 SPC magazine. Watching and waiting.

jimp, you know Roxy is in good company.

Prayers for those impacted by Flo.

Have a good day.

Charlie, I had a battery go in my 05 Explorer last winter. It is a V8 so they tell me I need the larger battery. It was North of $200.

I really do get a kick out of the electronic display when you try to start with a low battery. Mine flashes and blinks and goes into diagnostic mode. I can search all manner of information from the reset button on the dash. There must be a way to access the information without a low battery but I haven't figured it out yet.

Low 70's and cloudy in the hollow. Going to the mid 80's later today. Yesterday started at 4:00AM and a drive to Newburgh IN for an all day UBR match. Good turnout for their last match of the season. Looking forward to shooting there next year. Good range and a well run match. Tarcila was out until 11 with the service organization, so it was a very long day. Not sure what I'll get into today. I do have some grass to cut, rifles to clean, a rebedding job to do as well as a few other things.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Morning gang, 76 and headed up here in KY! Back and hip hurting bad this morning, arthritis acting up with the front off Florence moving in, par for the course. Going to see my mother in law at the nursing home, she had a bad fall the other day, got up without assistance and fell, hit a table and required stitches. Going to try to hunt again this evening, maybe I will get lucky, the deer like coming out in the fields when it is raining. Remember those in need of prayer, Buff out!

Put a jump box on the battery. That should flo enough juice to get the information that you want.
