56° here in Upstate NY this morning and it will cool down to 52° for a high temperature. We are to have showers today and possibly a little bit of snow tonight.

Yesterday I had to go and fix a computer first thing in the morning and then I was busy at home the rest of the day. Today will be church this morning and then R&R the rest of the day.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good morning from Bartonville Texas,, 41 now,, maybe hit 36 before sunrise. High of 56.
Yesterday was windy and cold, stayed in and had worked on trip plans for May.
My wife has not slept well last night so church may not happen. Just stay home and I rest and hold the cat.
Hope everyone has a blessed day,
Ken

Great morning everyone,

Just 23° with some wind and partly cloudy skys here near Halfway USA. 35° for the high today. Rainy windy & cold was what we got all day yesterday. Even some snow fell for a bit.

No reloading was accomplished Saturday. Too many other distractions. After taking a quick inventory, it seems most of the buckets 'o ammo are still full. Prairie Dog Safari 2018 did not consume as much as in years past. I do have a lot of brass that needs to be sized. I brought back a bunch from scrounging in Arizona & that needs to be sorted & tumbled. I have about 1200 pieces of .223 to trim so I suppose I can keep myself out of trouble today.

MPC - a simple effective load I was given when I first got a .223 was 25gr H335, CCI small rifle primers and most any 55gr bullet. I'm pretty sure I have filled over 100,000 rounds with that. Perhaps others will step in and offer their recipes.

morning all. 22 to start off, little breeze puts the wind chill around 12. Still calling for snow showers today, looks clear out there right now though... still dark though.
Stayed in the shop most of the day yesterday, got two tractors out, the JD loader came in for a quick repair. And now the shop is empty, good time to clean up before any thing else comes in.
Whacked a couple p-dogs late afternoon yesterday, didn't think they'd be out in the cold wind but they were. We don't have very many around, most died off last fall.
Off to town after chores and cows get checked, church and wally world. Hope to get some 223s loaded this afternoon. I agree with Scott on the 25g of 335 and 55g bullets!
I also have to clean the stove pipe again, smoked up the house last night. I hate wood heat! It's nice to back up to the stove but the smoke, ash, and dirt in the house just suck! Think that's probably half of my breathing problems too. Going to try to find a different heater for next winter, propane with out needing electric power to light would be best.
Better get around, have a blessed Lords' day. Give Him thanks for everything. Remember those in need of prayers and our country too.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good morning, GoGo. It's a chilly 31 in Louisville after the storm front that came through last night between dinner and midnight. High today will only be 43, then 28 tomorrow morning.

First, I want to thank you guys for prayers lifted for Cindy's dad. We drove to Evansville Friday afternoon and got down there around 2:30 local time. He didn't look good at all and was only marginally responsive most of the time. He had perked up a bit by dinnertime and Cindy got a few bites of food and some liquids into him. They told us the doc had decided to start an IV bag of saline later that evening. We came in Sunday morning and John was like a different man. He was awake, had not only eaten some breakfast, but said he fed it to himself, and he'd gotten down maybe a cup or so of fluids. I think the IV made most of the difference. We came home last night, but Cindy's gonna drive back down to spend a few more hours with her dad today. I told her you guys were praying and she asked me to give you her thanks, along with mine.

Need to locate more 223 ammo, with a AR15 style rifle I need more ammo. Give Praise for all we have and Prayers to those, country. Mike
Mike (MPC), I saw that Skruske gave you a basic .223 reloading recipe, but I wanted to pass along another option. It sounds like what you're looking for is "just in case" ammo, not loads tweaked specifically for varmints. Here's a link to a sale that ends today at Natchez Shooters Supply in Chattanooga. The sale includes .223, 9mm, .45 ACP, and .22 LR and the per-round cost is about as low as I've ever seen. I've ordered from Natchez several times and have always found them to be fast and accurate. Free shipping on these sale items. I think the 55gr .223 is around 21 cents a round after rebate and it's hard to get close to that cost even if you already have the brass and just have to buy bullets, powder and primers.

Y'all have a great day and be safe out there.

Good morning folks. It's 55° here now, was 66 when we got home at 10pm last night. I saw 74° yesterday afternoon, of course I was working. Now today, when I have some time to get things done, the weather is crappy. Temp is dropping like a stone and it's terribly windy out. Not sure if I'm going to bother spitting wood today or not. I need to run the guns in to the shop and pack Sam's MZ's for shipping. Might just come home and relax a bit, and spendtime with the granddaughter. Might be a good dy to get fishing stuff organized. Striper season is in 3 weeks.

First things first...coffee and breakfast. Have a good one.

Charlie

PS...Looks like I have a toilet to fix as well. Flow valve is shot.

Morning Gents! Its 36º here with the Sun shining headed for the low 50's. It feels colder than that. A front came through yesterday with the wind blowing all day and part of last night along with a little rain.

223 recipes! There are a ton of good ones. For Prairie Dogs and varmints around here I use whichever one of the plastic tip 50 or 55 grain bullets that are on sale. The Hornady, Nosler and the Sierra all shoot well. The Sierra seems to be slightly more accurate. I have gotten good accuracy with BL-C2 and it meters well through a measure. Somewhere between 25.5 and 27.5 grains. I do have to drop the charge about a grain when hunting in the heat of the Texas panhandle and Oklahoma. Any case and any primer, although I favor CCI.

Not much going on today. I have 4 lights, a fan and 1 more set of curtains to put up. I'll probably start on them after while. It will take me a while. The days when 12 hours was a half of a day are gone! I just can't work like I once did.

You'all have a good one.

Good morning from the sticks of Kentucky where the temperature has dropped from 75° yesterday to 33° this morning. Good news is we did get a small amount of rain from the wind driven weather front. Not much rain but it will help the grass grow a bit. I spent all that money on fertilizer so i hope we get enough rain for it to work.

I see the cows are out biting off grass tips, but i need to sling out some hay soon. Otis's cows will need a full feeding after it warms up a bit. I hate cold weather also MPC.
Judy Brown is wanting new Doors installed upstairs. SKRUSKE, are you doing house calls?? I suppose Rick can handle it but he makes a mess every time.

Yesterday, I serviced the John Deere lawnmower, grease, oil, cleaned deck, took off blades and sharpened them And got it ready th chop grass. Also greased the Polaris Ranger but didn't have an oil filter so i didn't change oil.. I found a Subaru oil filter that will match up instead of paying $18 for the Polaris filter.
Today we are expecting Justin and the Feral Damgrandkid later this afternoon.and deliver him back to his Witchmom.
Otis the Kat was a no show yesterday....He may be on a PUSSY cat trip or the Coyotes found him. Last time he was gone 6 days and came home hungry. He will make a fatal mistake someday, I'm thinking about taking him to the Vet to get him FIXED. I hate to do it to him, I would like to have some kittens from him because he is a beautiful cat.

Morning gang, 34 here in Ky headed to47 today, 73 yesterday and the bottom fell out last night. I have to spread fertilizer this week also JR, I hate throwing money out on the ground, but you have to in order to have a good pasture/hay crop. I had a buddy came over from Corbin yesterday, I sold him my 2002 Nissan pickup, I struggled to drive a stick after the strokes. We shot the bull, then he and his son were tearing up the cow patties with some 350 gr HP 45/70's I loaded up, cowboy loads. The kid was unimpressed, I told him wait a moment, and I got some loads I elk hunted with, 405 gr JSP about 200fps behind a .458 Win mag. This load shot thru an elk, end to end, broke his neck and punched out. The kid loaded up and held the rifle kind of loosely, and when he touched it off, he stepped back a couple of steps and turned him half way around. He shook his head, grinned and said that is what I am talking about. But on a good note, he hit what he was aiming at about 130 yds. My buddy remarked some day in the future,an archaeologist, will dig up that hill behind the barn and wonder what kind of battle took place here, wit 40+ years of shooting there, and trying guns out that I worked on. LOL! Well of to church in a few, remember those in need of prayer, including all requests on here, Buff out and have a great day!

Sunday

Good morning all. Indy weather is just about like everybody else. 20-25 degrees below this time yesterday with snow covering everything. We had snow, lightning, and thunder last evening. Maybe got 1/2" but it should all melt soon. Grandson met me for breakfast this morning. Another grandson and his girlfriend came in the restaurant with her aunt and uncle as we were heading out to Rural King. RK was selling guns one after another at 9:00.

Time for another ammo inventory. The PD wars are not far off.

Have a good'n.

Good afternoon......I got home last night from the shop about 11pm. That made for a long day for sure. I managed to get my bed painted last night finally. I wish I had bought some Xylene to thin my paint a little...guy told me ready to spray right out of the can. It only call for max 15% thinning but that shit was like trying to spray maple syrup! It's black but didn't turn out as smooth as I had hoped....I knew it was gonna be tough when I seen how thick the paint was.

I got home and watched enough tv to put me out on the couch and woke up sore as hell. Stopped and seen my dad for a few this morning and now I'm at the shop again getting ready to weld some small projects.

Hope everyone has a good day and prayers sent to those in need of them!

Yeah, running even later than usual this morning. 45º and partly cloudy. Might make 50º, but it will be a stretch. Spent yesterday morning in one of the local parks with my wife and a bunch of birders. If folks think benchrest shooters are spacey, they should examine birders. Good folks, just a little out of plumb. Took up the afternoon working on target backers and gathering more stuff for the UBR matches. I had no really thought about how much needed to be done, but I should manage it all. This morning it's office work and I'll attempt to get some grass cut this afternoon along with a couple more honey-dos. Truck is lookin' good Shane.

G'day Y'all,
Rick
