71° here in Upstate NY this morning under clear starry skies the high temperature will be going up to about 92°. We will have a breeze of about 6 to 8mph today with a 40% chance for some rain.

Yesterday after I got my morning over was a fairly peaceful day, I didn't do too much in the afternoon. Today as far as I know for now should be a quiet day but knowing my luck it may not stay that way.

Happy Anniversary to JR and JB.

Prayers are sent for all that need them.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

65 here high on RUGER Mt this morning.
They say rain for the next few days...we'll see.
We got 3 windows finished inside with wire and trim. They have 9 wired and 5 to go on the first floor. Dont see any way to finish all the inside by next Wed. Its what it is, been 1 of the hardest and hottest summers we have had in several years. No rest for the weary I guess.
You all have a gooden today and GOD Bless...

Donnie
Good morning from Waseca, it's a cool 56, high about 80, though the humidity is nearly 100 percent.
Yesterday was ok, lots of meetings that had my head scrambled. We are putting together a will, estate planning.
Church is planning on an outdoor service this weekend. Weather forecast says bring a rain coat.
Today I have to wait around for the lawn care service. They are returning after I complained about the shoddy care last week.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday,
Ken
Good morning from NC Ohio 70 going to 85 calm winds 100% soupy. Today I plan on sighting in the Chipmunk 22 with CCI CB caps for an upcoming indoor match with a friend. Great wishes too JR & JB on your Anniversary, you know she deserves more than a HF sundae at McD's!! Be safe my friends Prayers to all and country. Mike

Good morning all. It’s 71 heading for 82 with a good chance of rain all day in Indy.

The steaks came out great even though I stuck with what I’ve been doing. Seared ‘em first then baked ‘em. I’ll try baking first next time. There’s more than one way to skin a cow.

Got the .45 ACP test loads down with 185, 200, and 230 gr bullets using a Lee taper crimp die. The heavier ones are Hoosier coated lead, Berry plated 185s. Range trip pending.

Have a good day.

morning all. 52 with low 80s and 80% chance of rain, had a 100% chance for a little bit last evening, haven't checked the rain gauge as yet.
Doubt there is much in it as it was a hard rain but just for a few minutes. Lots of lighting and thunder.
Really didn't do much but watch sprinklers yesterday, shut some off and started others. Had to make a fast trip to town too.
Hope to get some work done today. Better get moving along, Prayers for those with issues and others.
Have a great day JR and Miss Judy!
GOD BLESS. Dean

The old rain gauge this morning shows we got just over two inches of much needed rain yesterday. We also got a lot of lightning and thunder. No damage here but there was plenty elsewhere around here. This morning the clouds are making it seem as though I got up early. Or is summer moving on into fall?

Great morning folks,

70° with mist & fog under an overcast sky back here near HalfwayUSA.

We stayed in Casey Iowa at their city park Wednesday night after an extra long drive the first day away from the Montana prairie. It never did get cool after a 102° day there. The temperature was still 84° when we woke at 6am central time to continue out trip east.

After dumping waste tanks we discovered the only gas station in town had NO FUEL. In our push to get to Casey I ran the big tank on the truck down to 38 miles until empty. A quick check of GasBuddy said the next station was 12 miles further east. Well that was at least the direction we needed to go. After a fill up of $228 we got back on the road just ahead of the big rains that were moving across the entire midwest.

We had driven about an hour when we cross into the rain. That was like a 200 mile intense drive through car wash. At least we had a good tail wind for two days. Seems we cleaned off most of the prairie dust from top to bottom. Chicago traffic was a big mess. Lots of wrecks due the rain & construction. Seems that added a couple hours to the travel time. We pulled into the driveway at the Halfway House about 8:30pm.

No break downs or tear ups. The new tires were impressive and kept everything under easy control. That 2020 F350 continues to impress me. I believe we used about nearly $1800 worth of fuel for the round trip.

De-packin' & de-sackin' today. An oil change is due and the DEF tank needs to be filled too.

Good morning folks. It's 73 going to 96 today. Sure glad I'll be inside all day. I awoke to the sound of generator kicking on this morning. Dunno what's up with that, didn't see any wires down anywhere on my way to work. FB, days are definitely getting shorter already.

I didn't do much yesterday after work. I mowed my food plot out back and raked out what I mowed off, then reseeded with some "throw and grow" food plot mix. I hope it's as easy as it sounds, because I didn't put much effort into it. The spring plot turned out pretty well, and attracted the deer, but got a little weedy this summer. It's a mix of grass and broadleaf, so I don't think you can spray it for weeds. Most was just annual varieties anyway so it needed to be done again anyway. I am hoping we get some of the rain that they are calling for this weekend and into next week to help kick it off.

Doug, hope you and Julie enjoyed yourselves. Yeah, the new rage is the "reverse sear" where you bake then sear. I actually tried this a few times on those Sam's club tomahawk steaks. They were really good. Your method was the old standby for years. My granny used to take a frozen steak (the horror!) out of the freezer in the morning, throw it in a cast iron pan on the coal stove, and take it off about 5PM. That is NOT a method I'll be recommending any time soon!

JR, this is a 2 blue pill day! Enjoy! I guess I should start looking for a card or flowers or something for tomorrow?

Gotta run. Prayers offered. Have a good one!

Charlie

75 here right now and they say we will peak at 87 later today. Glad to hear Scott and the others made it safely home from their Montana adventures. Happy Anniversary to Judy and JR and an early greeting to Charlie and Miss Sue. Wishing all of you many more years of happiness.
Gotta get back to work for now. Make it a good day.
Congrats to Doug and Julie, JR and JB, and to Charlie and Sue. Wish I had bought stock in those blue pills last week.
Off to OKC in a few to start the new chemo regimen. Think son is going with me and giving wifey a day off. I guess I can put up with his driving one more day.
Prayers for our Country, Israel, Ukraine and all Y’all

OK. She say THANK YOU for the best wishes for a day she likely would not repeat again. I seriously doubt I could have done any better, but She could have.
I will try to be nice to her today.
Everyone have a safe day and try to send lead downrange if you can.

Morning Everyone!

Its 77º and cloudy here on the beach with the highs in the low 80's and chances of rain.

Yesterday we hit the beach and I stayed until it got hot. I have learned that my MS kicks in if I get too hot so I kind of watch it. The scenery was pretty good. We went into town for supper and enjoyed the local seafood.

Todays plan is the beach again. A young couple that comes up to Duck hunt plans to join us later today and spend a few days. Its been 2 years since we've seen them, due to cover. They have a new child that we haven't seen.

Happy Anniversary to those celebrating those historical events!

Y'all have a good one.

Bruce, saw that one years ago, but it was with a dozen donuts, not quoits.

Good luck with the new chemo. I see my oncologist this afternoon to plot the next adventure, not sure if it will be radiation or surgery.

From the look of the sky, I will be driving in the rain to see the doc.

Good morning, GoGo. It's 80 in Louisville already, but only going to 84 ... supposedly. We're maybe 100 miles east of a front that's bringing rain. Right now, though, it looks like one big blob of rain will miss us to the north and a much bigger one to the south.

Miss Cindy just called (9:30 a.m.). She cancelled her hair clients and is coming home with a bellyache. She said another lady at work has what we call the stomach flu, so she's worried that's what she has, too. You guys know how that is, someone else's illness or problem gets in your head and all of a sudden you have the symptoms, too. I'm not saying she isn't sick, but I'm hoping it's more in her head than her stomach. She'd rather die than throw up, so I'm sure hoping it doesn't come to that.

Congrats to Doug and Julie, JR and Judy Brown, and to Charlie and Sue. JR, you need to blow that photo of JB up and put it over the mantle.

Don't know what I'll get into today. I need to get busy and complete a sheath for a knife I'd like to donate as a gift at a military convention I'm going to around mid-month. I had an uncle who was a Navy corpsman attached to a USMC outfit during Vietnam. He was killed 15 JUN 68 up near Khe Sanh. The outfit he was with, 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, has a reunion every other year and this year it's in Naperville, IL, about 30 miles southeast of Chicago. Just by chance, I started work on some knife scales for a medium-size camp knife several months ago. I decided to try a double liner and ended up going with red and yellow, pretty close to the USMC colors of scarlet and gold. If I can get my butt in gear, finish the scales and then get a sheath made, I'll donate it as a giveaway at the big closing banquet the group has. I have some Corps medallions ordered and one should work to attach to the front of the sheath. We'll see.

Y'all have a good'n, be safe, and lift up prayers for our friends here and for our nation.

55° and clear with a guess of 79° later. A friend called the other day and asked if I wanted to stop by after work. We took his out boat out on Detroit lake across the road from the jobsite. This is the area I worked with him at last year after the massive forest fire. He has been my best friend since we met in college in 1970. I ended up moving to Oregon because of him. He met his wife through connections with my family. Nice relaxing evening.

Morning all, 83 headed 86's and muggy. Had a heck of a day yesterday, got my 15 gal sprayer hooked up and filled up, sprayed 10 ft and and it quit, would take 5 minutes to regain pressure and spray 1 squirt, pump up again. Took it off after emptying the spray stuff, took it back to tractor supply, and they gave me another one. Got it home and the same thing, emptied it out and took it back, getting aggravated by now. Store manager took me and the sprayer to the back, checked the filter in the tank, and it was stopped up with what looked like plastic shavings. He asked me how old my roundup was I told him I bought it last fall. He told me that was the problem, Glyposhate is now breaking down after 6 months, and crystalizes when mixed. I bought another bottle while there, came home and the sprayer ran grreat, no issues.

On cooking steak, the best steaks I ever ate, were filet mingons out of our two elk we killed. I put some butter and olive oil in the cast iron skillet on the stove, seared on each side with a sprinkle of Cavenders greek seasoning on both sides, stuck in the oven I had pre heated to broil for about 12 minutes, took out and let rest a few minutes,, perfect med rare, and you could literally cut it with a spoon, I did. Best steaks I have ever eaten in my life, bar none. These were cut 1 3/4" thick.

Happy anniversary to JR and Judy Brown, two of my mostest favorite folks, and a early one to Charlie and Miss Sue. You all have a good one, remember those in need of prayers, Buff out..
