66° here in Upstate NY this morning with a little rain, it actually has rained most of the night. We are to get possible thunderstorms this afternoon with some heavier rain. The high today is to get up to around 70° and then start cooling off later in the afternoon.

Went grouse hunting yesterday for a few hours and I found three birds, opening day I didn't find any at all. With any luck maybe I will be able to get out this weekend again.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good Morning

69 and dropping fast, high of 59 this afternoon in NC Ohio. Had first PT yesterday, hope they can help with some of the problems. It would be easier to exercise and get rid of some weight to be a lot more flexible and happier. Be safe and Prayers to those and country. Mike

morning all. 38 at the house, 30 over in town. High 50s again today with a chance of showers. Calling for snow Sunday, we'll see.
Didn't have to serve on jury duty. But was 1:00 before I got home, sure glad they finally filled all the seats without my help!
Finished the blackpowder rifle cleaning on the first one, got it all back together last night. Looks good, now two more to do.
Will try to get another swather serviced and ready to put in the shed today. Not sure what the boss man has planned though.
Better get around, breakfast about ready.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Great morning folks,

28° now, 40° later with a chance of rain out here in the southwest Wyoming desert. Most of the 2-3 inches of snow melted in the afternoon but the desert roads are still greasy.

Maybe a little scouting and or hunting this early morning but only on decent gravel roads. Doug's uncle Mike has a rifle to shoot so a range trip is planned.

I have been authorized to generate some board traffic so don't disappoint Miss Judy.

This was at our little hometown parade for Sawdust Days last month.

Good morning folks. It's a drizzly, rainy 71º here with off and on rain all day. Last day of 70º+ temps for awhile they say. Gonna cool off from here on out. Fine with me. I was so dang sweated up getting into my deer stand last night. Skeeters were kept at bay by thermacell. I stopped by mom's and snagged dad's old one. For the life of me I have no idea where mine is and it bugs the hell out of me. I did see a dozen or so deer, and even had a buck come in range, but not sure what it was. I could see horns as it came out of the corn but when it entered the woods it was too dark to tell. Had it at 22 yards in the wide open. No birthday buck for me this year.:(

Well, I guess I'll get busy. Prayers offered. Have a good one.

Good morning, GoGo. It's 56 in Louisville, only going to 64 today. Then it's supposed to drop to around 40 in the morning. Slim possibility of a light frost this weekend.

Took delivery yesterday (USPS) of some really hot handgun self-defense bullets some of you might like to know about. I'm not sure how long they've been out, but the bullet is called a Federal HST. They're normally only available in loaded rounds, not as a reloading component, but I ran across a company that buys factory rejects, disassembles them and sells the parts. Company is called American Reloading. What I got was some 124 grainers in 9mm and 230gr in .45 ACP. For good data on these and other handgun bullets, check out luckygunner.com.

The info above is largely added as a public service announcement for those who think that perhaps we should be sharing more tips. Lots of you may already know about that Lucky Gunner site, but some may not, and I think it's just the cat's ass. Besides the testing they do, there are a bunch of really good articles in the Lucky Gunner Lounge area.

Miss Cindy and I are spending next week in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. I'd love to hear what your favorite spots are there, the attractions (natural or commercial) that you just can't miss when you're there. I'll start another thread for that and look forward to finding some "can't miss" places we've never visited.

Y'all have a good'n, be safe out there, and don't forget to pray for folks who just suffered so much hurricane damage.

Getting cooler by the minute here and it’s supposed to reach 55 before it starts warming up.
Helped my younger son get moved into their new place after work yesterday. Looks like a trip to the range is in store today or tomorrow.
Glad to hear grouse are still abundant somewhere. It’s been along time since I’ve even heard one.

Good luck out West Skruske and thanks for posting the picture of Miss Judy taking up the serpent at the annual Family Dollar Tent Revival Meeting.

Happy Birthday Charlie and Happy Travels to Mike and Cindy.

Make it a good day

Morning

Good morning ll. It's a windy 50 in Indy heading for 57. Woke up all congested the last three mornings and I'm looking for something/somebody to blame. If I was a Democrat I'd blame Trump but............

Got the .224 Valkyrie assembled on a Rock River lower with a 5-15 Bushnell scope because that's what was available. Next stop, the range but, probably not until next week. Grandkids have got me on the run but I'm taking today off and doing absolutely nothing. I'm pretty good at it, too.

Have a good day.

Morning' folks,
55º and cloudy in the hollow. Looks like the cool air got here first. Forecast is in the 40's tonight and a high in the low 60's. I'll be a little further south fishing for smallmouth on Joe Wheeler with a few friends. Don't really give a damn if I catch fish or not. A bad day on the water is better than a good day of work. Not much important to do before I leave this afternoon, just the usual packages and paper shuffling.

G'day Y'all,
Rick
