Good morning, GoGo. It's 6 in Louisville and the 15-20 mph winds have moved east of us, apparently. Makes a big difference. Going to 25 today, then tonight's low is only 24. Then we have highs in the 50s and 60s for five days straight, starting Saturday. Incredible!
Schools are closed again here today due to the cold. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel tomorrow, too, "just because." Our governor got in some hot water Tuesday afternoon after calling the Jefferson County school admins a bunch of pansies for calling off school because it was gonna be cold. We did get about 2" of snow Wednesday morning, so buses might have had to slow down on a few routes. Therefore, because a small percentage might have to get mom or dad to take them to school, we just shut down the whole system. Sounds to me like the teachers union is calling the shots, which doesn't surprise me one whit.
Charlie, I'm all confused about that house of yours. I thought it was an older home because you talk about the wood-burning furnace, which I think is in the basement, right? But now you talk about wind seeping between the logs, which means whole-log exterior walls. They haven't built log houses like that here in Kentucky since Abraham Lincoln was a pup. Sounds to me like you need to invite Judy Brown to come visit for about a week. She'll get those logs caulked in no time and might even bring the mud all the way from the damcowfarm.
That's about it from the big city of Louisville. Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there. I've gotta go make sure my shorts and tank tops are ready for the tropical weather that's coming.
