There have been several in the E TN area in the past 60 days, all minor with no damage, some not even felt except by the people that monitor these things. I live about 25 miles from there but not in town yesterday. I have not felt any of them to date, wife said she felt one that occurred about a month ago but I slept thru it.

Wife looked up the local news and it was revised down to a 2.7 from a 3.0 with no damage being reported. Probably just rattled some windows and made a "boom" that woke some people up. There is a "major" fault line that runs thru E TN, but it always surprises everyone when mother nature stretches a bit.

Were they confirmed earthquakes or did birddog drop his wallet and checkbook on the ground..... the shear weight of that much mass would certainly cause a heck of a noise / tremor. ;) WD

FYI - West TN is a real danger zone-close to the New Madrid fault and has a bazillion bridges..if a big quake hits, would drop all the bridges.

Worked in Mempho for 13 years ... our business disaster recovery plan included having key people ride it out - HA! When the ground turns to Jello under foot, if you are at work - you go home, if you are at home, you stay home however is always nice to have a plan.

Man plans, God laughs.

TN great place to live - West TN is the BBQ Capitol of the World.

Best.

Not sure about that but they can determine how deep the epicenter was on each one. Dropping the wallet might be a shallow event. :)

E TN has it's fair share of bridges as well, we got those pesky mountains that we need to get over to the other side of whenever we go anywhere. I was in charge of disaster recovery committees in TN & FL, but just have to worry about my stuff now.

E TN has some pretty good BBQ as well, most towns around home have a good spot but with slightly different flavors/tastes.

Lol

It is seriously funny, how we got from an earthquake to BBQ! When we're in TN, end of next month, I'll try to make sure there or no bridges between us and a BBQ place. :D

I felt it

That morning I got up at 3:00 and sat down in front of computer. The house was perfectly quiet. The the house shook like from a heavy, close clap of thunder. I heard trinkets on tables shake. I went to the door and looked out and all was calm outside. time was 3:15 a.m. That is the second time in my life at have felt a tremor. The last time something fell off the wall in my basement.
