Mikey, in PA's infinite wisdom, youth day is only for "anterless" deer. I don't understand why, in this day and age, kids can't shoot either during youth season? It's perfectly legal and even encouraged in other states. Hell MD's youth season is at the peak of the rut! Those kids kill some big ones! I guess adults would cry bloody Mary if kids were getting to get a crack at a big ole buck before they had a chance OR that the adults accompanying said kids would shoot the big buck and use the kid's tags. PA gives ONE buck tag per hunter. It can be used in archery, firearms or muzzleloader season.

Fb, I'm sure there's parents shooting deer saying the kids shot them. No doubt it happens. Always will be a few. But in the Era of declining hunter numbers I think for recruitment of youth into hunting, they need to be able to have these experiences. If we don't get the kids involved, the future of hunting is bleak.
