27° here in Upstate NY this morning with light snow coming down, the high temperature today will only get up to about 30°. It is supposed to snow all day with about 5" called for and a blustery wind of 15 to 20mph with gusts up to 30mph.

Iwas on the road yesterday for about five hours and when I got back home, I spent the rest of the day working here on another computer. Today I have another one here I have to do and watch it snow; I am not going to be on the road today. When I left my house in the morning yesterday it was snowing lightly and then it turned to rain for the rest of the day. We may not get it quite as bad here as they were and are predicting.

Belted Birthday wishes for Tinman.

Prayers for all that need them.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good morning from frozen Waseca where it's 6 degrees. High about 30. Maybe.
I took the Romanian Cigur and the Belgian New Century to the range yesterday. The Cigur is a very good shooter that does fired enough. The Belgian was fired a lot and never cleaned 120 years ago. Sadly the bore is too far gone for any accuracy. It is a nice looking wall hanger.
I plan to stay home today. I need to work on that fir stock and a Texan powder measure.
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday,
Ken

30 degrees here with a fine snow falling steadily. About 4" on the ground right now, more to come throughout the day. Looks like we've got a lull coming before too long before it begins the wrap around as things move north and east. It started last night about 6:30, big flakes falling straight down as the temp was right at freezing. We had about 1" when I went to bed at 10. Not much wind yet but that will build as it wraps around. So far, no big deal and I'm good with that!
Hope you all have good day and I'll update later, probably.

Good Morning All!

It's 34 and breezy in SC PA. There were some flakes drifting down on the way to work this morning. Chance of snow/rain until afternoon. There is a good sized storm off the coast that will bring us lots of wind today and tomorrow, but we probably won't see much precipitation. High temp to reach 40 degrees.

I had a fairly productive weekend. Shot another round of skeet on Saturday, and I think I finally have the stock where I want it to be. Shot the entire round with no discomfort. Nice to be able to concentrate on shooting and not get punched in the face. Still had some misses on stations 2 through 6, but I'm getting better. Gun failed to eject the spent round several times, no doubt because I had yet to clean it. I got home and tore it completely down and cleaned it, then lubed it with Hornady One Shot dry lube. This stuff works great on my 10/22. We'll see how it works on the shotgun.

An acquaintance at church is interested in my CZ550 American in 6.5 Swede. I took it along Sunday for him to look at and he liked it. He wanted to see what the shells looked like but I didn't take any. I'll take some next week. Anyway, I knew there were a couple broken scope ring screws to deal with. I was able to get the broken bits out of the screw holes and called CZ about replacements. Apparently they no longer import this model, and now they don't offer any support for it so no screws are available from them. At least he was able to tell me the correct size, and I went to a local machine shop where the owner was able to order some for me. They are supposed to arrive today, so maybe I'll get to pick them up after work. Hopefully he calls and says they are in.

I fixed my guitar too. A couple of the strings were making weird noises and I found the strings were too low and hitting the frets. I just had to raise them up a little and it was sounding good again. Brought it along to work today and I'll play it on break. Haven't played in about a year because of hand issues, but I'm going to try again. We'll see what happens. Getting old isn't for wimps.

Make it a great day everybody!

morning all. 21 with 55 for a high, and only "breezes" for today, but then thru Sunday could be winter. We really need some moisture, it's DRY!!!
Chores and cow watching, but did work in the shop some, got the front tires off the little red tractor and fixed the boss mans' tail gate again.
Not sure what else will happen today but sure something will.
Whacked a coyote yesterday morning also, dead cow bait works good but getting a good shot is hard where the cow is at.
Saw a couple others and made them run, maybe get another chance today.
Have a good and safe day. Prayers for those with health issues and other problems.
GOD BLESS. Dean

The rubbish is at the road. Putting rubbish at the road in the dark seems senseless but that’s what daylight saving will get you. I got the income tax papers together and a trip to the accountant is in the books for today. And in keeping with the standard operating procedure the weather report is; 21 degrees and headed to 28 degrees with slight chance of light snow flurries and no sun again today.

Good morning varminteers. It's 27 in Indy heading for not much better. Took Long's donuts to the girls at the pancake joint this morning so I'm back on the nice list. My status is variable along with my degree of grumpiness. Two ladies from the dog rescue place are coming by later on to give Sig his last puppy shot and give us all his vet records. I think it's a trick to check on us. Julie will be making an appointment at our vet to get him started on their wallet emptying system. She ordered a DNA test kit a couple of days ago. Curiosity can be a little spendy but it saves ya' from saying "I don't know" when people ask what breed he is. The cost of having him neutered is included in the adoption fee but he has to go to another vet for that. Unless he's been pretty stealthy about it, there have been no more negligent discharges.

Quick check of the ammo inventory has caused a near panic. Julie shot in a Glock event Sunday and we're down to 100 rds of reloads. I'll be spending some time communing with the Dillon today. Ya' know the old saying, "when momma ain't got ammo, ain't nobody got ammo"! Or something like that.

Have a good day.

Morning all. Feels cold outside and the weatherman says it is 26F right now with scattered snow showers. A few flakes coming down and the sun is trying to show its face. Supposed to be okay this afternoon with highs in the upper 30's. Get to break in a new opthamologist this afternoon, since my old guy retired last October. My wife has been going to this guy for a few years, and his office is real close, so it ought to be a no brainer. Probably will get my eyes dilated, so that will mean nothing productive will be done for the rest of the day. Perfect for a nap. Be safe and keep warm.

Good morning folks. It's same here as El Cheapo, but I'm a bit grumpier I'd guess. I am back at work, late this morning, and would have loved to sleep in longer. We left SE OK at 8am and traveled until 1AM; makes for a long ass day. Stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel in Shawnee, then Bass Pro in OKC to kill some time, then on the plane. Late leaving OKC, late getting into BWI. Then BWI sent my gun case to large items baggage claim. I had the AR broken in half and in a 24"x18"x8" camera case, smaller than most luggage cases??? Took me an HOUR just to get out of the airport and to my car, then an hour drive home. UGH. Oh well, we're home safe. Larry and Chuck were in Laramie for the night. I reckon they have about 6 hours to go today.

Well I need to get busy. Prayers offered. Have a good one!

Morning Everyone!

Its 32º and Sunny here headed for the upper 40's with a very lite ENE wind. Its suppose to warm up tomorrow and rain later in the week. Would like to send some of that to Mr Bruce and Dean! :)

Didn't do much yesterday, didn't feel so good. Sat up late the night before watching a movie and about the time I got sleepy the Cat threw up. :( That woke me up so I was a while longer going to bed.

Todays big event is taking the Wife to a Doctor's appointment. I'll drop Her off at the front door and go sit on the furtherest corner of the parking lot. I think She mentioned a Sam's Club run afterwards. I expect we'll eat lunch someplace too.

FB, 90 seconds ain't very long! It takes me longer than that to put my socks on. Its nice to know that the Fire Department can be rolling that quick!

Someone mentioned the bank failing. I heard on one news outlet that the Exec's had just gotten large bonus's! I guess bankers are like politicians?

Prayers offered for those in need and for our Country.

Y'all have a good one.

Good morning everyone,
64 headed to 77 . Cool again for tomorrow then starts to warm back up with lots a chances of rain. We got a good rain yesterday.

Plans for today will be determined at a later time . I'll piddle in the garage a load a handful of 6x47 Lapuas.

Yesterday we tried a new Mexican restaurant but at 50+ dollars for 2 is a little bit more than I want to spend on Mexican.
Everyone have a great day. Happy Trials to you until we meet again.

Morning all, 33 headed to 42 today, but have to see it to believe it. Got some more .300 BO loaded yesterday, getting stocked up. May load up some .243 or 6.5x55 today, need some 100 rds of each, in 2 different bullet weights to be where I want to be. Dug around last night and found about 1000rds of 9mm, 124 gr cast and PC that JR and I had made last year, need to get about 500 of them loaded. El Cheapo, if that local guy dont buy your CZ 6.5 x55, I might be a player, local ffl accepts from individual with a copy of your drivers lice. You all have a good one, prayers for those that need them, Buff out.

Weatherman says it’s 36* and raining. You couldn’t get wet outside if you were standing underneath a sprinkler. Don’t know who they called to get a rain report. Anyway it’s still DRY here.
“I think” we’re down to a handful of heifers yet to calve. Carl is heading back home to KC area today. He has been a lifesaver to son and DIL for the last 2-3 weeks. He will probably sleep for 2-3 days when he gets home. He deserves it. They have all been burning candle at both ends.
Other hired hand due to return today about noon. Good hand with a horse and rope. He is about 19 and single (but in love). I think Chad and Justin want to keep him on full time. They are looking at a house about 1/2 way between here and east side. His name is Dace, but Carl has given him a fitting name, “Tumbleweed “. He has red hair and it’s long and curly. When he puts his Stetson on that hair just sticks out everywhere underneath the hat. Looks like a tumbleweed with a hat on. Nice kid and seems to have been raised right. Justin knows his dad and couple uncles. I’ve known his grandmother since she was in high school. Good people.
Prayers for our Country, Israel, Ukraine and all Y’all

Good early afternoon, GoGo. At 1211 it's 36 in Louisville, sunny and going to 45. Got down to 31 last night and is supposed to drop to 25 tonight. I enjoyed the days we had in the 70s over the past 3-4 weeks, but we got a little soft and now these regular temps feel brutal. Up and down should be for the bedroom, not the weather. Ha!

Quick check of the ammo inventory has caused a near panic. Julie shot in a Glock event Sunday and we're down to 100 rds of reloads.
Yeah, that new pup distracted you, didn't he? Ha! Just remain calm, but on a big pot of coffee, and crank your ass off.

Julie will be making an appointment at our vet to get him started on their wallet emptying system. She ordered a DNA test kit a couple of days ago. Curiosity can be a little spendy but it saves ya' from saying "I don't know" when people ask what breed he is.
Well, the SIG plant is in Germany and Sig is also an Old Norse word for victory. So, I think you should have put that money into primers and just told people Sig is Kraut-Viking, a somewhat rare breed of European war dog. Sumbitch is gonna be expensive to feed, I'd say, just like Julie's pistols. ;)

Hmm, you capitalized Wife, Her and She. I've gotta think that indicates either extreme love and respect or extreme fear Ha! As for lunch, if you've been paying attention to posts by JR and myself, then you know the Sam's Club "snack bar" has very good pizza, hot dogs and ice cream sundaes. And they're cheap, did I mention that? Two of you can eat just fine for $10, but you might have to share the sundae.

Yesterday we tried a new Mexican restaurant but at 50+ dollars for 2 is a little bit more than I want to spend on Mexican.
Cindy and I ate at a fairly new Mexican place here on Sunday. Two meals and one small beer was $30 give or take, and I thought exactly the same thing you did, Jim. Cindy and I both cook Mexican here at home quite a bit and what we had at the restaurant was really no better than what we make. I know families, some with kids, who eat out or bring carry-out food home nearly all the time. I don't see how they're continuing to do that with prices shooting up the way they have. Something tells me that for many the answer lies in their credit cards,

Charlie, today counts as a Monday for you, so I'm checking it off on your retirement calendar. Keep on keeping on.

Hope y'all are having a good'n and that you're being safe. Let's pray for our friends here who are ailing and rejoice with the ones who've had good medical news and are recovering.

So much for a lull in the action. About 10 minutes after my morning post she (Mother Nature) really got things going with the real storm. Been snowing heavily ever since. White out conditions at times. Probably 9-10" on the ground now with no end in sight and the wind is starting to pick up, too. Lots of heavy snow weighting things down once again, similar to last weekend but worse since we have so much more already and more to come. Made the first round with the plows this morning and glad we did as that batch we got last night was some heavy, especially on the soft ground.

The pic above is looking out to the NE corner of the front lawn. You can't see it behind the truck but there is a pretty good size branch that came out of the oak across the road that I pushed up into the bank.
The pic below is looking to the SW from the kitchen window at where I took down a bunch of the trees last summer. All the brush and wood piles are buried so I won't be working on those for a while

.The pic below is looking due south from the kitchen window; usually I can see the neighbors house at the left side of the picture but not today with all the drooping branches. Wind is coming up and I can hear the branches breaking and cracking already. Gonna be an interesting afternoon.
