Mid afternoon greetings from the sticks of Kentucky where we have a cool day w half sun and a nasty wind out of the N.
@CTKenagen that is a Real snow; haven't seen one like that for a while. We have None at present and not spectin any.
Damcows were fed which took extra time because I am hauling hay out of the Pile they tore into yday.
More fence checking and I found 3 more places shorted....and @Dean in Colo. Elkers did indeed wrap a Hot wire around a Ground wire when they passed thru.
Judy Brown actually fixed Lunch today. We put pinto beans in crock pot last night, she made cornbread and fried up Cabbage.
Food Tableware Ingredient Recipe Staple food

I put Kraut and Salsa in my Beans, and it's always straight Pintos. Hausbeck pickle or two straight from Michigan on the side.
Newspaper Font Publication News Newsprint

I saw an internet article making fun of Baby Boomers....above is a cure for Hiccups in a Readers Digest article. AND it Works...foolproof. I have done it many times. Usually takes about 45 seconds.
@Doug Roberts is gonna have to tear himself away from the Pancake girls and Order some SP Primers from American Reloading.

And @lightman i was the same way when i was a Rural Mail Carrier...first thing i think of now is still...gonna be rough delivering mail. Any Damfool can drive down the highway...try stopping in the ditch a few hundred times.

As a former lineman, I'll bet you DO see a lot of repair work after something like this! So far, it has been what my Dad used to call a "pruning storm". Mostly weak "V" shaped leaders have peeled off on the small stuff, but the bigger stuff we've already had to clean up was about 8" and snapped off at a branch from the main trunk. Only 2 of those so far, knock on wood.
Radar and the snow that's falling shows the storm wrapping around and headed north and east. Now we're in the cold air; snow is dryer and blowing much more than it has all day. We've probably got another 4-5 hours but the biggest amount has probably dropped already. We've got well over a foot and if this continues the way it is now, we'll get another 2-3" before it winds up and clears out. I talked to a client this afternoon who is maybe 3 miles away as the crow flies but is much lower in elevation, probably 500' less than us. We're at about 1350' or so. He got maybe 3" he said, was shocked to hear we had over a foot with limbs falling. Couldn't believe it so I laughingly told him to take a ride and see but he didn't want any part of that, LOL!
We'll clean it all up for good tomorrow as everything is opened up, pushed back and passable, even it gets another few inches.
As I keep telling myself, it's just a snowstorm; nothing like the catastrophe that Bruce's area had to deal with.

Talked to Chad this morning…. Help is on the way boys. He said he had about 800 linemen headed to bail you boys out. The name of his company is Center Point Energy. If you see some extra linemen around they are probably some of his subcontractors.
Went with wifey today while she shopped, I scoped out all the parking lots. Left about 11 am and just got home. 10 hours of Hobby Lobby, Walmart, cell phone store, water softener place, and lunch at Chinese buffet. Was a full day.
No rain here, but road was wet about 10 miles south and it has showered everywhere we went ….. except here
