46° here in Upstate NY this morning, we are supposed to have up to 3/4" of rain today of course. The high temperature will be up around 57° today.

Yesterday was rather a hectic one for me, on top of my computer work I had gun club business I had to get done for our nomination meeting tomorrow night. Today I will be on the road most of the day plus going to vote.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

morning all. 17 here this morning, mid 45 again later.
Got my elk yesterday, has to be the smallest rack for a 5x5 bull there ever was. But he's hanging in our cooler! :D Has been around 10 years sense I got a bull.
Today we'll cut meat, but I have to work cattle this afternoon. Then the rest of the week will be cutting meat. Seven elk hanging will take a while. Got one done yesterday and one deer too.
Better get, VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!
Have a good one.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Election Day Morning

56 and only heading to 59 today.
I have the day off work so I’m gonna take full advantage of it. Breakfast is already out of the way. Getting ready to head to the range now. After the morning crowd is finished, gonna head up to cast my ballot. Yard work and outdoor cleanup is on the agenda this afternoon. Woodplitting will probably take me right up to sunset and then reloading will finish out the day. So far, this warmer weather has been pretty easy on the woodpile.

Prayers up for Sam and others. Prayers for those heading to vote today that the right decisions will be made.

good election day morning folks. It's 49º here and the line of storms is just now starting to hit us. It is POURING now with lots of BOOMERS. Pretty significant storm system. I wanted to hunt a bit this morning before work, but the threat of lightning kept me out of the treestand. I hunted briefly last night after work in a heavy, foggy drizzle. I saw 2 bucks and several does in just an hour and a half. One buck was small. The other skirted by in the thick stuff and I never got a good look at him, but he for sure wasn't the monster I was after. I have a few days left of the archery season and I'd like to take a day off to hunt, but this weather isn't cooperating very well this year.

Just read some sad news in the paper. We had a really bad house fire in the county Saturday afternoon. Sue saw on FB that there were 4 KIDS including and infant trapped inside. When we got home Saturday night she found out they got all the kids out, including the infant, which they had to revive on the way to the hospital. Today they reported the 8 month old baby girl died at the burn center. :( I didn't know the family, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind some prayers. I can't imagine losing a child like that.

Well, I guess I better get busy. Prayers sent...especially for positive election results.

Have a good one.

Good Election Day, GoGo. It's a warm 53 in Louisville, going to just 61. We must be getting some southerly winds for it to have stayed so warm overnight. Sharply colder this weekend for our rifle deer opener with a chance of snow showers. Good for deer movement, but tough on us old guys who need a few days to adapt. :)

My fingers and hands are a little tender this morning. You guys ever work much with what I call rat wire? Miss Cindy wants five boxes made out of rat wire to use in decorating at our church. These are five-sided boxes, with no bottom. Then she attaches tiny LED lights on the inside, wraps the outside with thin, shiny fabric, and attaches a big fabric bow on the top. So, you end up with what look like large Christmas presents that are lit up from the inside. Anyway, there's no way to cut that rat wire with diagonal cutters (yes, dikes) without creating scores of sharp little wire stubs. I finished two 1-foot cubes and one 2-foot cube, so I'm over the hump. I think I have enough wire for another cube about 1 1/2 feet on a side. I thought about using a Dremel cutoff wheel to cut the wire, but I did the work in my living room last night and didn't want to be throwing sparks all over. Miss Cindy is happy, so I'm happy.

As for the election, I'm a lifelong registered Democrat who leans from moderate to conservative on nearly all issues. The last Democrat I remember voting for was Jimmy Carter. Yes, I'm a deplorable and proud to be among that group. I'll be voting today and praying that the rest of the (mostly) silent majority shows up as well, which they did in November 2016. I find it totally ironic that it's the ultra-liberals who are now calling for civil war when it was that same group claiming just a few years ago that the far right wanted open war. Sheesh!

Y'all have a good'n, let's all pray for our country and Sam Koger, and be safe out there. If you climb a tree, WEAR A SAFETY HARNESS! If you're gutting a deer, PAY ATTENTION!

Good morning voters. 49 heading for not much more in Indy. Our county had almost 100k people vote early. The poll wasn’t crowded when we got there at 6:30. The only slow down was the 2 goobers ahead of us who were at the wrong location. Easy in, easy out and only had to hold my nose for a few minutes. GO VOTE!

Good Election day morning from the sticks of Kentucky.
It is cool but the rain has passed with a thunderstorm about midnight last night and dropped maybe a half inch of new rain.
Still NO Hot Water as Rick the plumber had to go rescue someone else last night. It doesn't bother me as I had a bath last month and Judy Brown is still gone to get the Damgrandkid near Ky Carpman's area. I suppose they will show up this evening and take him back to his charming momma at 6pm. I wonder if she will be Distraught when she turns on the hot water handle? Wash in cold water baby.
As George says, I had an easy day yesterday, visiting a couple neighbors who are not doing well. I hope I made them feel a bit better.
Speaking of Sam Koger....does anyone know where he is now?

I may take a ride to see if I can catch a Coyote on the move looking for Love, like humans they seem to do it in the dark!
Then I will vote but we don't have any big contentious races here in my area. The big one is North of us where the national communist party has injected Millions to try to elect a Lesbian, ex Marine officer who proclaimed yeast year she is the most liberal person in Kentucky. See if I can find my red Trump hat.

I would say the drywall is up at the halfway house and mud is ready to be slung!

Good morning all....up at 5 this morning to hit Walmart for a few cases of water for the shop and then next door to the voting center right at 6am. I rolled in about 5 minute to 6 and there was already a line formed out the door. Once things got going I was back out the door by 6:20a.m and at the shop about 10 minutes later.
More smoke belching fluxcore welding all day unless some emergency diverts my attention away. I have another 300lbs. of weld wire on order and hopefully it comes in today as I'm almost out. Looks like it will be between 60-70lbs of wire per part and I went and picked up 2 more 300cu.ft gas bottles yesterday so that gives me 4 large bottles total so I don't run out and have to sit around waiting on gas.

I got my barrel cut down and profiled where I want it Sunday night now I just need to get it chambered and headspaced and get my gas block ordered and figure out if I want to leave it at 18" and put a mid length gas tube and handguard on it and get the gas port drilled.

Hope everyone has a good day!
