31° here in Upstate NY this morning, the high temperature for today is only to be about 32°. They say we will have some snow showers with up to an 1" accumulation possible.

I will be on the road most of the day today so I hope it won't be to bad. Yesterday was a fairly quiet day but probably the rest of the week won't be.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

morning all. Good start at 5 degrees, on the way to the mid 40s... maybe.
Saw a -1 on the pickup yesterday as I drove around the farm to coffee.
Taking a bit longer to do chores now with the ice in the stock tanks thicker each morning. I got a new pressure switch put on our stock well so now the calves should have water all the time, the old switch had to be whacked now and then to turn on.
Not sure just what I'll do today, boss man is going over the hill with a load of cows to the sale. If the wind stays down I might shoot the creedmoor a few test rounds :)
Time to get moving, have a great day and be safe and warm out there.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good morning everyone...it was about 20° this morning with my windshield iced up. Got to the shop about 6:15 and got coffee going. Going to make a lot of smoke this morning doing some carbon arc gouging. Back to working on the stone box until the furnace parts gets picked up and new components get dropped off.

Hopefully I get a chance to go sit in a tree this week as this is the last weekend for firearms until the late bonus at the end of December. only been out once and didn't see squat. My buddy Tony did shoot a coyote up there on Sunday but that was all he seen all day as well.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning

Only getting up to 28 degrees today they tell me. Haven’t spent much time online this week. They stocked trout in a few lakes around home and I have been fishing every day for the past week. Gonna try to get a few more after work today.

My wife made some soup with the last of the Thanksgiving turkey and it sure hit the spot, when I got home last night.

Make it a good day

good morning folks. It's 36º here with high wind. Tomorrow the same. It's deer season. Never know what weather to expect, only that it won't be good. Glad I got my deer. I don't have to sit out in it if I don't want to. Yesterday's weather sucked. We sat out front in the morning and didn't see anything then the rain came, followed by fog. Walked back up to the house and waited it out. About 11 we went back to the stand and immediately saw several does and a nice buck across the road on the neighbor's. Then neighbor walks down like Elmer Fudd and messes the whole works up. Come to find out a "friend" I was texting called him and told him I was watching that deer. What a @ick move. It could have easily crossed the road and been in our lap. That deer was in my yard for the last 3 weeks. I passed on it twice in archery season. So, we went back to the house and mom sat out back in a ground blind until dark. Saw 5 spooky does. I imagine the same 5 does I saw with that buck, who is now probably dead. This whole hunting thing is getting frustrating. Losing all my spots. Dealing with @sshole neighbors. Spending big money on a lease and not seeing a damn thing to shoot at. I've about had enough.

Well, I'm back at work this morning. No doubt a Boone and Crockett backlog is waiting on me. Better get moving. Have a good one.

Good morning, GoGo. It's 24 in Louisville and only going to 29. We've had a skiff of snow the past few hours, but not much more is expected. Tomorrow morning is going to be even colder, down around 20, I think. I'm working from home both today and tomorrow, which means I don't have to put up with drivers going ape over a little dusting of snow.

Not much planned other than doing my paid gig today. I do have to dig into my chest freezer in search of a Boston butt that I know is in there somewhere. Planning to smoke it for pulled pork either Thursday or Friday.

Charlie, there are times when I'm beginning to think like you in terms of the deer. I still like to hunt 'em, but I don't get as excited about it as I used to. I see the time coming when I'm offering to skin, butcher and wrap friends' deer "on the halfsies" as they say. Wouldn't have to get up at 4, wouldn't freeze my butt off for hours and hours, wouldn''t have to drag my ladder stand out of the garage, then stuff it back in after season.

Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there.

Charlie & KF, I lost a lot of my enthusiasm working at the sight in days. Crap scopes you can't tell a deer at 100 yards, let alone antlers terrible hunters with no sense of safety and no shooting ability. I will go out the first Saturday or so but only a couple of hours. My turn to bring grub to the hunting shack. I have had more than one nice deer get too close to the cook in the warm hut begging to be shot.

Morning

I'm a bit late to the show this morning but it's 24 with light snow in Indy. Not going to get much higher than that. Back from the breakfast blind and wondering how I'm going to fill the rest of the day. Pretty sure I'll come up with some great plan. Just hope it doesn't cost me too much. Too is hoping it involves him staying indoors. What looks like a dog house up against the side of the garage is actually a doggie door into the garage where he has water and a heated pad. He'll be just fine.

Whatever it is, I'd better start doing it or it might quickly turn into a nap. Have a good day.

T.D.C. That's why we stay away from the public range on weekends. This time of year particularly.
