34° here in Upstate NY this morning, the high temperature is to get up to about 56° today. They say we will have some showers starting later today and then continue through tomorrow.

I was on the road all day yesterday again and today I am going to take a break. I am going up to the gun club this morning and do some shooting and also check everything over.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Trick or Treat

58 degrees this morning and they are saying we are in for a soaking later today.
Took advantage of the great weather yesterday and headed to the range with the old Salvage 221 Fireball. I’ve shot it more in the last few days than I have in the past 5 years and it is like getting reacquainted with an old friend. Afterward, I walked down to the pond and caught some baby bass until dark.
Not sure what is in store for today. The weather is going to keep me indoors this evening so I will be either at work or at the reloading bench.

Make it a good day

Great morning folks,

Cloud cover & a bit more rain with 51° but some clearing later here near Halfway USA. Poured down rain last night even come some thunder & lightning too.

Well, the tearing down of the family room continues. All the 1970's paneling is out of the house & I cleaned up some old electrical. I found an exposed hot wire inside a wall that was not capped on the ends, just cut off. Glad that got cleared. I pulled it back & can use it for the new lighting. I added some insulation in a place where cool air was blowing directly in from the soffit. Looks like who ever put the furnace duct work in didn't put back any insulation as they should have.

Debra Dearest is a good assistant & I do what she says. :D Not certain what her plans are just yet but she has A LOT OF IDEAS. First things first, electrical gets installed in the ceiling & for now she wants recessed lights - only 8 of them.

Kayaking didn't happen yesterday. Sister in law was supposed to show up in the afternoon to pick up something & didn't show. That happens too often. Kayaking will happen today - last nice day of the year probably. Sister in law can pound sand.

happy Halloween HUMP day all! It's 40º with some ground fog and clouds this morning here in south central PA. It's supposed to warm up tonight and rain the next day or two. Big front coming should have the deer moving better, but looks like the rest of the week and next might be washed out. Running out of time in PA. Our archery season ends the 10th. With all the does around the house, the bucks should start showing any day. I didn't get a trail cam out. Maybe I'll throw one up tonight before I get on stand.

Well, I need to get back to work. Finishing stretch on a big project. Hopefully it gets completed today.

Have a good one!

morning all. Running late, slept in again :) 26 here, wind chill around 12 with the snow blowing, first blizzard of the year, really not much of one but sure a change from the last couple weeks.
Got the last two big tractors put away yesterday, a couple small older ones still out and two of the loaders.
Not sure what will get done today, maybe stay home and eat the trick or treat candy  and reload something. Sounds good but probably won't happen.
Better get the chores done, have a Happy Hump Day and Halloween.
GOD BLESS. Dean

HAPPY HUMP DAY, GoGo. It's 62 in Louisville. Only going to 68 because of the big storm front that's about 3 hours west of us. It's supposed to rain, hard at times, all the way through Thursday night.

I worked at home yesterday and during my breaks I got some pulled 9mm bullets cleaned up a little. I'm pretty sure these bullets were from a run of military ammo because they have a little line of red sealant up near the ogive and some have a smidge of black gunk down toward the base, some kind of glue, I guess. I soaked some in furniture stripper and some in acetone. The goopy stripper worked best but then it had to be cleaned out of the big hollowpoint. The acetone was easier, but only removed about 80% of the black gunk and didn't seem to touch the read sealant at all. These bullets are 124gr Federal HSTs and I wouldn't be going to all this trouble except that they aren't available as reloading components yet. Only way to get 'em is to pay over $1 a round as loaded ammo or manage to find some that have been pulled and are for sale. Lucky Gunner Labs testing shows they're a wonderful SD bullet, so I'm glad to have 'em even if they are taking some cleanup.

CarlP, I want your life. Are you retired yet, I forget? Any weekday when you get to go to the range and then finish up pond fishing for bass, that's a darned good day. That's a beautiful Savage you've got there. Love the stock and have 2-3 Savages like that myself.

Charlie, you'd better climb a tree there near the house this afternoon if you can, cause the rain's gonna make it miserable the next couple days. Hope at least one of those nocturnal "ghost" bucks slips up and gives you a shot. ;)

Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there.

Upper 50's with a thick cloud cover in the hollow this morning. Expecting rain today and tomorrow, but temps will remain moderate. Glad I'm not in CO with Dean and a 12º wind chill....brrrrr. Wife is gone grandson sitting for the day so the westies and I are without supervision. Wish I had something fun to do, but that is not to be. I'll see about making a little $$ and collecting some more. Happy Hump Day Mikey!!

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Good Morning from Georgia !

50 Degrees here now, going to mid/upper 70's. Rain not suppose to get here until noon tomorrow. Had a YOTE barking at my dogs last night, in my backyard !! I am where I can't shoot in the yard, Neighbors REAL close. If that critter shows up again I might just be temped !

Here's hoping Y'all have a great day, and the weather turns better for Y'all this weekend.

52 on the way to 78 here along the Benicia Strait. Still no rain. Fire danger remains very high.

A couple of rifles to clean up today. I also need to load some .222 for a range trip tomorrow.

Have a good day and be careful out there.
