25° here in Upstate NY this morning, clear and the wind has calmed down. It was blowing bad yesterday with gusts up to 35mph. Today it is to be a fair day and for tonight we may get some light snow with little of no accumulation.

Busy day yesterday, I was on the road most of the day, today it looks like it will be of the same old.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

morning all. 2 to start the day, could get to 20 today than a warm up for the weekend. -8 over in town with a wind chill of -18, amazing what difference there is in 25 miles!
Have a dentist appt. this afternoon, was supposed to be at nine this morning but Gwyn is going to take mine and I'll take hers. Just no way I can get chores done and make it by nine.
Got a few odds and ends of brass sorted and in bags along with cleaning my carry pistol yesterday afternoon. Had to work on the old Dodge feeding pickup again. Boss man wanted to use it and ran the battery down trying to get it started, was out of gas! But burned the ground cable off the battery while trying to get it going. A little gas and new terminal and hour on the charger and away it went.
Better move along, Happy Hump Day on what seems like Monday. Have a good one.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good Morning

40 degrees here and it sure doesn’t seem like hump day. I need the weekend to hurry up and get here so my system can reset.

Spent the day at the range with my nephew yesterday. We got there around 2:00 and stayed until it was too dark to shoot. The 30-30 got a good workout along with the black rifles. Sometimes I forget how much I like to shoot the 300 Blackout. Lots of clay targets were destroyed and a good time was had by all.

Hope to see JR check in soon. I worry about him when JB leaves him unsupervised.

Make it a good day

Good morning, GoGo. I guess I should say my usual HAPPY HUMP DAY, but my internal calendar is totally scrambled, so I hardly know what day it is. It's 42 in Louisville, going 45. Not too shabby for January 2. Louisville did top the old rainfall record in 2018, something like 68 inches.

My daughter and granddaughter from the Houston area got in about 8 p.m. Monday night and we're having a good visit. Her husband had to work and didn't get to come this time, but he did come up with some good gift ideas for me, including this one:

Y'all have a great day and be safe out there.

good morning folks. It's about 39º here with clouds. Looks like rain on the way. Yesterday started very windy but got pleasant in the afternoon. Still a good breeze but was a lot warmer, into the upper 50's. We got Tyler to the airport in plenty of time and he's probably in the sandbox about now or soon will be. Has a big layover until his honey gets off and then they are heading to Indonesia. Oh to be young and dumb again...well, at least young.

Better get busy. Back to work for the year. Short week is even shorter for me. Taking a half day Friday to hunt. Probably a waste of time but at least I won't be working.:D

Have a good one.

Good morning

Leaving Phoenix in a a couple of hours. It is 32 here and clear. Salem OR is 39 and cloudy. I am bummed, Ben Avery range was not open yesterday. I guess that means another trip back here.

Great morning folks,

Overcast with 25° & we may get high of 34° later here near Halfway USA. We did enjoy a few hours of sunshine yesterday.

Firewood will get moved around today. Brass will get sized. I need to hook onto the big doublewide & get in on a hard surface. I need to replace a tire or two. I learned the hard way a few years ago, DO NOT try to jack up something heavy on soft ground.

I did communicate in multiple types of media with the damncow whisperer yesterday. Diagnosing the cause of a out of battery failure can be a challenge. He needs to get away from using that old three slot payphone & buy himself one of them new fancy touch tone phones. :D

Good morning everyone and happy Hump day and a New Year. Finally at the shop as I had to wait for some place open to buy some bolts this morning and didn't want to go back to town.
Spent all of yesterday at the house, got up and made sausage gravy, biscuits, bacon and eggs. Watched tv most of the day.

Hopefully I can get a few things done today. Got 2 rooms done in the hog barns Monday but they didn't have the other 2 rooms cleaned yet so have to wait on that.

Should be ordering steel today for my new flatbed build on the 01 dodge 3500 I picked up last year. Then it needs to go to the alignment shop after I put all new rod ends on it....it rides way to rough with no bed to drive it that far....it just about beat my kidneys out when I drove it home. Hopefully the bed weight will make it better if not it will get the springs swapped out. It had a dump bed on it before so they put in a really heavy duty spring stack!

My gas block is due to be in today so hopefully I can get my barrel drilled and everything installed so I can shoot it soon. As long as I don't have anything happen like JR did I'll be fine. Never had one fire out of battery....but seen it happen. Wonder if he was doing a mag dump after some dirty coyote or something.

Well hope everyone start the New year out great and stays safe and healthy!

GOOD morning from the sticks of Kentucky where I am still on VACATION. Cloudy and mid 30s with a chance of more showers.
Thank you Dean for reminding me never go to Alamosa in the wintertime....poor old Boss Man, he reminds me of myself every day. We just can't get it together but still putting one foot in front of the other.
The AR 15 project. I took a 6 inch socket extension one drove the bolt carrier out of the upper, it came out after a lot of PB Blaster and a lot of hammering. The fired case was stuck in the barrel and i couldnt find my easy outs so i took it to a friends house aand used his easy out....worked. Seems the bolt is ook except for a bent extractor but the upper receiver was bulged out a bit. A few licks with a dead blow hammer and it looks ok.
Added a new bolt carrier, new magazine and things seem to be good to go. Problem probably was a defective round I had loaded a few years ago, probably bulged a bit due to incorrect resizing....Maybe I should let Boss Man load my ammo since he has problems getting his truck started.???

I have a water leak in my house line but I don't really feel like digging today, don't know where it is but may check an old repair first. Damcows are standing around waiting for someone to unroll some hay for them to stomp into the Mud so i better go do it.

Cloudy & dreary in the hollow with the temp in the 40's today. Typical January in Middle TN. The National Weather Service according to The Weather Channel says the 1st quarter of this year will be colder than normal. Doesn't appear that way so far. The forecast going out ten days looks milder than usual and I'm good with that, just wish the damn rain would stop for a while.

So, 2019 begins. Seems like a Monday and I have a little work this morning, so I need to get out the door. The wife is keeping my grandson today at his house, so I'm unsupervised. Better get at it.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Dean, Sounds like you Boss Man could break an anvil with a rubber hammer. How did he survive in farming / cattle lacking the mechanical gene. It is necessary.

Charlie, I think I enjoyed being young and dumb. Made for better stories. Now I am just old and dumb.

Total overcast here as well Rick. Our Monday 35-112mph winds moved thru and the remnants must be harassing you Easturn Boys now. We be 41° and 67%.
A pair of Dinah's Grandsons lagered over last night. They played the perfunctory card game then proceeded to game, drink and snack in the basement. Maybe I wasn't any better in my early 20s.....but Granny never subsidized any of my college because of a non performing mother. I just don't get it. But, maybe I never did.
I can not lay my hands on my 19-223 brass. I've looked and looked. That was going to be one of my main squirrel rds.

Need to get the taxes, license etc done on the truck, stop by the Doc inna box and say let's try door #3 as my ear is still full and ringing. Maybe see if a local company needs a part time driver as well. Also be taking the lads back to their dear, young muther.

Dean, I'm curious as to the boss man's oar count. They all sure aren't in the water, maybe just plain MIA? Good thing he has you to clean up his messes.

Time to shower and get on with it. Have a Happy Humper. Tom out

Morning

Good morning all. It's a dreary 30 something in Indy (this is a recording) heading for a just as dreary 40. Got a couple of errands to run today including a stop at an auto glass shop. The windshield picked up a nick on the highway just before Christmas and it's beginning to spread. Fully covered by good old State Farm but it needs to be done indoors thanks to the weather.

Off to see the day. Have a good one.

Late morning check in gang, never get around to it early it seems. Painted a stock for a savage, did a sponge camo job, looks alright, but not great, clear coated it afterwards. Going to do some shooting Saturday or Sunday, supposed to be 52 and 60, great shooting weather. Cleaning off the workbench yesterday, concentrating on the rest of the shop today and tomorrow, I have a habit of leaving tools out, not cleaning up after myself, going to have to do better on that, slow down on taking work in. You all have a good one, remember those in need of prayer, buff out!
