13° here in Upstate NY this morning with calm winds. We are under a winter weather advisory for tonight and tomorrow morning. It is supposed to snow this afternoon and then tonight it will be a wintry mix. The temperatures will rise overnight and it will be rain tomorrow morning.

Very busy day yesterday with my being on the road all day. Am hoping to be home this afternoon so I don't have to drive in the mess. Right now I not only have my work to contend with but gun club business.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Good Morning from Waseca, it's 21 and snowing. Supposed to get 3 inches and warm up to 28. Snow forecast for everywhere east of me.

I bought laminate flooring for the office yesterday, Tarkett Brand from Menards. What a pain in the petunias this is to lay. It refuses to snap together without a fight. It's going to be a long day putting that stuff down today.

Hope everyone has the best day they can,
Ken

Morning Gents! Its 39º here headed for the low 50's. It rained all day yesterday but move out during the night. I didn't do much except tumble, dry and sort brass except to keep a fire going for Mama and Kitty. Not much going on today, may get out and meet a buddy for lunch. You'all have a good one.

morning all. -2 so far with wind chill of -15. We got another 3/4 inch of snow last evening.
Worked in the shop most of the day yesterday, but found a cold calf while out doing chores and checking cows. Boss man got it and momma in the barn so should be good.
Travis and I worked on the blue loader till we almost gave up, called my welder friend and he came and helped get the stuck pin out, between him and Travis pounding on it we finally got it about 6:30 last night. What a job!
Would like to call coyotes today but not sure if it will happen, my hunting buddy/ youngest son (aka Travis) is going back to Wisconsin tomorrow, hopefully between storms. Sure got a lot of work done around here while he was here.:D
Have a great Happy Hump Day and be safe. Remember the prayer requests.
GOD BLESS. Dean

Good Morning

30 here in NC Ohio with two of snow on the ground. Not sure what the roads are like but I have a 60 mile drive too take at noon, may be gone by then. Had our tractor club meeting last night, we need a tractor pulling sled for the July show so we are searching for one now. Just light enough to look outside and it really snowing heavy, that total will rise!! Be safe and Prayers to those and country. Mike

Good morning all. It’s 34 with snow rain sleet and slop in Indy. Should get into the 40s but it’s gonna’ be an ugly commute. Julie goes about 3 miles to work and the breakfast blind is about 6. Our exposure is limited. Time to get serious about getting ready for the trip south. That’s my day in a nut shell.

Have a good’n.

good morning folks and happy HUMP day Mikey! It's 29º here and the snow just started falling lightly. Calling for about 5" before it turns to sleet and freezing rain. Everyone canceled schools and businesses last night expecting a mess. I have an eye Dr appt in Harrisburg this afternoon. I think I'm going to reschedule. Not worth traveling in this mess and it's just a followup from my surgery last year. No hurry. At least it's my last day to work this week. Can't wait to get away and hopefully see some warmer weather.

Have a good one.

HAPPY HUMP DAY, GoGo. It's 38 in Louisville, going to 53. Got quite a bit of rain overnight, but it's moved just East of us now. Looks like Charlie is gonna have all kinds of precip, as he mentioned. I think the big shutdown is a smart move, especially for the schools.

In yesterday's post our wandering Skruske talked about doing some rockhounding and said "we walked up dry wash and counselors of quartz rocks to break open." I kind of make a game out of trying to decipher typos or brain phardts, but I'll be darn if I can figure out "counselors of quartz rocks." Maybe he'll translate it today.

Y'all have a good day, keep the fire stoked, and be safe out there.

Good morning to all of you from up here on the wind blown prairie. 13 degrees and snowing, supposed to snow all day and get 6-9 inches. It snowed yesterday and the wind is at 9 mph now and blowing it around. They are predicting that the winds will increase up to 25 mph gusts. Visability is low and is going to get worse. Another 6 inches of snow and we go on record for the most snow ever recorded for February.
We had a huge share of the snow cleaned out of the farmyard, but it’s going to fully again it seems like. The concern now is going to be overland flooding like in 1996 when we had a lot of snow and had a quick melt. Maybe. maybe not, we will have to wait and see.
I’m planning on staying cliose to the fire today. Making Venison Parmesan and spaghetti for dinner today. More than likely have it for supper too. Going to try and bake some oatmeal cookies today also.
Hope you all have a good one today.

Great morning folks,

It is 38°, yep 3-8-degrees out here among the rocks and dirt. That big clear sky let the heat out. The moon rise over the mountains was worth it.

The moon had the coyotes out singing in force last night. Woke me up about 3am.

"Counselors of quartz". I don't know either. Between my stubby fingers, the darn Amazon tablet touch screen & it's propensity to over auto-correct my mistakes, it's a mystery never to be solved. All I know is if you break open enough quartz, eventually you will win a fleck of gold or silver for all that effort.:D

We did find some precious metal yesterday. The 4 of us picked up a gallon bucket of brass. It must have been in the desert a while. That much fun is no longer legal in Kalifornia. Crapping on the street is fine but guns are bad.I

The Canadians are coming to visit and explore today. Should be lots of laughter as a result.

46º and heavy rain in the hollow this morning. Will probably do this a good part, maybe all, of the day. Fortunately, most of my obligations are somewhat indoors. I did visit the new range yesterday to form some brass and look at the conditions. My conclusions is that until we get some semblance of dry weather it won't be a good idea to have folks walking around setting and removing flags. That will have to wait for April when the grass should be up at least a little. But we did get the flagpole set and the "perfessor " worked on wiring the lights and speaker system. Rain doesn't stop everything.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Six inches in 4 hours and coming down harder by the minute. Supposed to turn to ice then rain. Office emptied about 11. I'm home for the duration. Think I'll jump on the 4 wheeler and get it off now before it gets any heavier. I'll Have to do it again , but it won't be so heavy.

Morning all, late check in for me! 49 here and pouring the rain, it sounded like a jet engine roaring it rained so hard for about an hour this morning. Am worn out from doc visits in Lexington yesterday, left home about 7:45 am and got back about 5:00pm, our heater/ac guy got there about 15 minutes later, quick fix on the gas heat, some contact points had corroded, he sanded them clean and everything worked great. He worked a total of about 20 minutes, replaced one part and cleaned the other one off, he only charged me for half of a service call, which made my day!

It's a mess up here. We got about 7 inches before it switched over to rain. Luckily it's warming up a bit and things are melting. I spent 3 1/2 hours on the 4 wheeler plowing my drive and th old widow neighbors. I took the time to plow my new neighbor's drive since they may be wanting to move in this weekend. Their drive is worse than mine, steep and a big switchback make it interesting. Had to plow down not up. Got myself half off the side at one point  and needed the winch to get back on the pavement. I briefly thought about pointing it downhill and gunning it, but that thought only lasted a second when I saw the tree across on the uphill side was within winching distance. Good enough. I'm on vacation. Bud called and has a fishing trip tentatively booked. Depends on weather but looks good right now.
