Came to the hospital via th emergency room not sure maybe two weeks ago. Long story short on top of already having prostate cancer I now have pancreatic cancer and while being treated or diagnosed for that my appendix burst. To sum it up and put the icing on the cake I’m Now diabetic. So how’s that for a one shot visit to the ER with and upset stomach. I’m at currently hoping to get out before the 4th mostly due to the complications of the appendix the pancreas part is in operable. So I guess when I do get out of here it’s going to be a fast and short bucket list. Just in case something else comes up I want to tell all of you how much I’ve enjoyed reading about your adventures and know what a really fine and sincere group of gentleman you all are. Just Doug and we’ll guess that’s all I’ve got to say.:)

Doug, you've got a tough row to hoe, no doubt, but keep your spirits up. Dad made it a lot longer with PC than most. It's a tough one to beat, but it can be done. I'm hoping you've got some time to get things in order and your bucket list checked off.

Holy cow, Doug! May God bless you and give you enough time to check off that bucket list.

It's funny (well, not really), but it seems like when we hit a certain age - different with everyone - it's like going over a cliff...or crossing some line or something. It's like the ol body runs outta gas or something. Suddenly, all hell breaks loose - or at least that's what it feels like to me and my bros. No "C" (yet), but all manner of other issues suddenly coming on with a rush! If I were to go see every friggin "specialist" my primary doctor has referred me to, and then see the next layer of specialists, specialists... I'd barely have time to do anything else but sit in waiting rooms - and be too broke to do anything else!

I (for one) feel your pain. Everyone will have a turn with it too...sooner or later. That's life. It sucks. But, one can't take it too seriously, because we'll never get out of it alive! (Trying at humor here!?)

Doug, thoughts and prayers coming your way for the immediate future. If it was picked up early your chances are decent. I have buddy fighting PC but they found it a little late. He is at year 2 and doing quite well. Lots of new stuff out there. (UPMC Pittsburgh). The PC is probably the source of the diabetes sicne the pancreas is the heart and soul of your glucose regulation.

WOW! That's a hard pill to swallow. Much like me, First appendix, then diabetes, then a year ago Pancreatic Cancer. I had a Whipple Procedure done and then Chemo. Blood work is all clear and I haven't lit up any of the last series of scans. I'm one of the newest P/C SURVIVORS around. There's not many of us, but we're out here. If I can manage this, you probably can too. P/C will find what you're made of and I suspect you come out of some pretty strong stock.

I may not know you Sir, but know that you are in my prayers.
