Guys, I need a new pair of pacs. The ol LaCrosse All-Temps are done. I'm thinking Schnee's but I'm open to suggestions. Need to have a waterproof rubber bottom, leather upper and lots of insulation for deep snow and cold temps. (I sometimes go calling coyotes at -20) Let 'er rip with your experiences. If you've got a brand to stay away from, let me know why, too. Thanks!

Sorel Raindeer hide Pac Boots

I have worn the Sorel Raindeer hide boots on countless snow covered hunting trips. You need to get a couple of xtra pair of the removeable liners, so you can always have dry liners each morning..
In the frozen goose blind, and not walking around much, I wore the air filled type boots, kinda like the Mickey Mouse boots in the Army.

Gotta have warm Boots...

response to Pac boots

My friends son worked in Yellowstone chasing buffalo all over God's creation. All the workers said buy the Schnees. He did and they worked out well. They don't wear out and keep your feet warm and dry.

Too warm in SC to even consider owning a pair.

Good luck, Schnees come highly recommended

I've just bought a pair of the LaCrosse packs and they are incredibly warm. I've found that I need to wear a very light wool sock that comes up over the top of the boot so that perspiration will migrate up and evaporate. When I do that, my feet don't get cold.

Thanks guys. I'll do a little research and decide between the Schnee's and the Lacrosse. Thanks for the heads up about the Baffins and the Sorels, I think I like the style of the S&L's a bit better. We've got another winter storm warning for this afternoon, supposed to get 3-9 inches. I'm NOTheaded to Casper today to get caught in it on the way home this afternoon. New boots can wait until my days off next week.

I'd go with the Schnees also. sorrel and lacrosse always discontinue the liners and the boots as soon as I buy them. So when the liners wear out your up the creek.

I've been in Schnees several times and they always have plenty of boots and liners in stock.

Pac-Boots: What about wide widths?

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of pac-boots in extra-wide widths? I have 13 EEE feet and cannot find any line of pacs that comes in anything other than medium width. I can make them fit by removing the liner but that rubber gets cold!

I find it absurd that the market is big enough to have at leat a half dozen manufacturers with several models, but not big enough to make more than one width.
