Hodgdon is taking over the powder markets. Hope nothing happens to them. They have the Hodgdon powders, IMR, Winchester and distribution for V-V. A single company with that much maket coverage or leverage kinda bothers me.

Hodgdon now owns both Winchester Powder and IMR. I was told that both Winchsester and IMR will be manufactured the way it always has been and at the same sights, but that Hodgdon owns the names and oversees the quailty control. New IMR powder is in a Hodgdon type canister with the IMR label and I have even seen some 748 in a Hodgdon type bottle, but the rest of the shipment was in the same type of canisters that Winchester has been using.

While that may be true. I am positive about the idea that a company that "gives a damn" about the hand loader is at the helm.

I'm very happy to see the consolidation of other companies' products under the Hodgdon banner. Hodgdon is a tremendous asset to our sport and markets the best powders on earth as far as I'm concerned.

The DuPont/IMR products have been passed around for a few years and I was concerned they would just disappear. Hodgdon has taken care of that fear.

The Winchester/Western powders are good products and with the fate of other Winchester brand products I'm glad to see Hodgdon taking them under their wing.

I think this will prove to be win/win situation for reloaders.
