I can't seem to find any Wyoming prairie dog shooting info on the web. I'm looking for info on non-residents needing a permit or not and if there are any seasons on the little critters.

Thanks

Simple. No license, no season, no limit...no foolin'.

Wyoming forms a nice neat rectangle on the map. Inside those lines there are prairie dogs. Color the landscape red within those lines and you will be fine.

Rocky is just yanking your chain a little, Gar. :D There is no permit necessary in Wyoming. There are no seasons, but wintertime hunting is pretty tough and unrewarding. You cant shoot from a vehicle. Wyoming is 70% public land, so there are lots of places to hunt. Prairie dogs dont live in the mountains, so hunt elsewhere. Get some BLM maps, figure some likely places and get started. Good hunting. :)

To be less flippant...

Wyoming requires that anyone born after 1965 must have passed a Hunter Education course to hunt with a firearm in Wyoming. That includes hunting for non-game species such as ground squirrels, prairie dogs and coyotes. There is no closed season, no bag limit and no license required.

You will find prairie dogs in Wyoming anywhere there is suitable habitat for them.
